Happy Birthday, Uncle Ron!

Hello! Today I'm popping in with a birthday card that Sabrina helped me make for her Uncle Ron. We want to wish him a Happy, Happy Birthday!

I pulled out my limited stash of masculine patterned papers and let her choose 2 - she chose the checkered flag (appropriate since he's a race fan) and the chevron and I put them together to create the most masculine card you'll ever see come out of my craft room. ;) Here's a detail shot:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Congratulations on Your New Home!

Hello! Today I have a card for our niece and nephew who recently purchased a new home. Though we are sad that they will be an hour away from us instead of a mile, we are excited for them to begin their new adventure!

I used some of the new 100% wool Taylored felt. There are 50 yummy colors to choose from. Not only are the color choices incredible, but the felt is high quality and die cuts like a dream!

The sentiment is from Welcome Home. I die cut the Neighborhood Border out of Khaki felt and trimmed it to include just a few of the houses. I started with Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #160 and altered the location of my embellishments. :) Here's a detail shot:

Taylored Expressions | Perfect Paper Crafting Partnership

Hello! Taylored Expressions and Perfect Paper Crafting have partnered together for a month long blog hop. Taylor kicked off the hop on Monday on the TE blog and now it's my turn! Jenny Gropp from the Perfect Paper Crafting DT also has a project to show you that I'm sure you will love! Before you head over there, I have a project to show you!

If you are unfamiliar with the Perfect Paper Crafting products, you will want to visit their site and watch their how-to videos (HERE). They are very informative and visually show how easy it is to use their products. This was my first time using their products, and I was very impressed with how easy they are to use and loved the results. I worked with the Perfect Layers Mini and used the Perfect Cutting Mat. Combined, these made adding mats to my layers super simple and I love how precise they are!

I made this card for my daughter, Sabrina's Extended School Year (ESY) teacher. The sentiment is from Love Teaching. I used Mojo 254 for my layout (with some minor modifications). Here's a detail shot:

Here is a look at the Perfect Layers Mini in action (sort of). I wasn't able to get a clear shot balancing the camera and the craft knife, so below I'm showing you how everything looks right before you make the cut. Once you align the lip of the ruler against the image layer, you simply run your craft knife down the side of the ruler.

In addition to project inspiration, there are also prizes! One lucky winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Taylored Expressions AND a $50 gift certificate to Perfect Paper Crafting! Please visit the TE blog and the Perfect Paper Crafting blog for all of the details. You have until tomorrow, July 18, 2014, @ 8 PM PST to leave a comment for a chance to win this fabulous prize! Also, be sure to check out both blog posts for a coupon code to use in both stores!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Retirement Sale!

Taylored Expressions is having its first ever Retirement Sale! Since 2008, TE has released more than 500 stamp sets and to make room for new products they are bidding a fond farewell to 75 beloved sets. These retiring sets are 40% off and, once they are gone, they are gone! Visit the Retirement Sale HERE and collect your favorites before they get away.

Today I'm posting a few of my favorite creations using two of my favorite retiring sets, Moka Morgana - Ballerina and Life is a Dance. Since my daughter Sabrina loves music and loves to dance, these two sets got a lot of use in my craft room! First is a shadow box that I created when I was on the Key Ingredients team. The top sentiment is from Life is a Dance and the bottom is from Moka Morgana - Ballerina.

Next is a card featuring Moka Morgana - Ballerina (both image and sentiment).

Last year I made this 6x6 scrapbook layout using the sentiment from Moka Morgana - Ballerina.

And finally, my last project is a couple of pagea from a mini album using another favorite sentiment from Life is a Dance.

Be sure to check out the TE blog for more details and the TE store to see all the retiring sets. When they are gone, they are gone for good, so be sure you don't miss out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's Your Day!

Hello! A few of us on the Taylored Expressions Baker's Dozen were asked to make samples for the July CardMaps. I've been a fan of Becky Fleck's PageMaps (scrapbook sketches) and CardMaps (card sketches) for many years, so it was a pleasure to get a sneak peek of one of them before they went live! If you aren't familiar, you'll want to check out PageMaps, HERE. New PageMaps sketches are published monthly and CardMaps are quarterly. And here is a link to all of the July CardMaps sketches and samples.

I'm still catching up on graduation cards for a few friends of mine (actually, the children of a couple of my friends). It's amazing to me that these kids that I met as babies are already high school graduates. I used a sentiment from "From Me to You" and various Taylored Dies (please see list below).

Here's the sketch I worked with:
