Viva La Verve Just Because

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

I used Amber's Viva La Verve sketch (VLVMar01) for my card. The "twist" was to use at least one button on the card. It was my first chance to use the new Papertrey color, Melon Berry. I've been looking for a nice peach color and I think I finally found it! I stamped the butterfly twice with the matching Melon Berry ink, cut one out and popped it on the other. I finished it off with some Star Dust stickles and tiny rhinestones on the antennae.

Stamps: Fluttering By (Verve)
Paper: Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, White (Papertrey Ink); Patterned (MME)
Ink: Melon Berry (Papertrey Ink), Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Swiss dots embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); flower (Prima), button (Papertrey Ink), Star Dust stickles (Ranger), tiny rhinestones (CTMH), paper piercer, foam tape, twine.

Mojo Gratitude

I, for one, am glad that it's Friday. Happy Friday, everyone!

I used Julee's Mojo Monday week 75 sketch for my card, flipped 90 degrees clockwise for a vertical representation of the layout. The quote is one of my favorites - it is from the Verve set, Beautiful You. Each Verve diva contributed her favorite quote - this one was was submitted by Jen del Muro.

Stamps: Beautiful You, Petals & Stems (Verve)
Paper: True Black, Aqua Mist, White (Papertrey Ink); Cosmopolitan (American Crafts)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

Accessories: Square and Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), scallop sentiment border punch (Fiskars), ribbon (Papertrey Ink), paper piercer, Swarovski crystals.

Happy Easter

I used Jen's latest Sketch For You To Try for this card. This also doubles as my card for the OCC challenge to use a tag. Although I will probably make a few St. Patrick's Day cards, this is actually the first Easter card to go in my stash for this year.

Stamps: Easter Chick Riley (Hanna Stamps), Happy Easter (CTMH)
Paper: Teal (Prism), Summer Sunrise, White (Papertrey Ink); Urban Prairie (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Petite Oval Nestabilities and Double Ended Tags (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), ribbon (Papertrey Ink), brads, foam tape, thread, sewing machine.

What's Up Cupcake - MFTSC69

I used Cindy's sketch, MFTSC69 for today's card. I omitted a sentiment as this may be one of those "just because" cards in my stash. I stamped and colored the cupcakes, then I stamped the sprinkles onto them. Finally, I topped each one with a cherry (aka Taylor's Tiny Twinkles).

Thanks for visiting!

Stamps: What's Up Cupcake (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Vibrant Teal (Prism), Blush (CTMH), White (Papertrey Ink), Blush pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko), Tulip (CTMH)
Accessories: Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Swiss dots embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); Markers (Copic), border punch (Martha Stewart); ribbon, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles (Taylored Expressions), foam tape.

Every Good & Perfect Gift

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch #69 as the starting point for my baby card. This is for a friend who just had a baby boy, so I tried to keep it fairly clean and simple and not frilly. I did add a little bling in the form of the patterned paper and tiny rhinestones. After all, every baby can use a little bling!

Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Lemon Tart, White (Papertrey Ink); Spring Iris (CTMH), Nana's Nursery Baby Boy (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: tiny rhinestones, brads, thread, sewing machine.

Viva La Verve! Thank You

This is going to be a short post because Sabrina was up most of the night and is at home sick today. Her ear infection has not completely gone away and her ear is hurting her again, so we're starting another round of antibiotics. Hopefully, they will kick in soon and we'll be back to our normal routine. She hates missing school. Until then, I may not get much stamping in...

This is for the final Viva La Verve February challenge, using Amber's VLVFeb04 sketch. The "twist" was to use acetate. I used acetate for my card base. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Serenity (Verve), Thank You sentiment (Verve freebie)
Paper: Acetate (office supply), Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush, White (Papertrey Ink); Cosmopolitan (American Crafts)
Ink: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Square and Petite Oval Nestabilities; Swirls embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); candy dots (Pebbles), ribbon, foam tape.

Happy Spring

I've haven't had the chance to play in the last few Taylored Expressions cupcake challenges, so this was the first sketch I decided to play with over the weekend. I used Taylor's sketch #56. I stamped the spring cuppie surrounded by flowers, sponged the sky background and colored the rest with Copics. It was my first attempt at coloring grass and I was going for the spiky look -- I need to practice more with that.

I cut the scalloped border on my horizontal cardstock strip with the Ric Rac Scalloped Pierceabilities, then used the Bloom Dots embossing folder for some added texture. I added some bling with a rhinestone and some stickles on the butterfly. I'm not sure why the ribbon looks like such a different color than the cardstock - in real life it is a much better match! This is just one of several sweet cuppie images to use throughout the year!

Stamps: A Year of Sweets 2, A Year of Sweets Sentiments (SASI)
Paper: Ocean (CTMH), Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink), Garden Party stack (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Petite Oval Nestabilities and Ric Rac Scalloped Pierceabilities (Spellbinders), Bloom Dots embossing folder and Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), Star Dust Stickles (Ranger), rhinestone (Imaginisce), ribbon, foam tape.

So Blessed - Mojo Sketch

Happy Saturday! I used Julee's Mojo Monday #74 sketch for my card today. My colors came from the soft aqua and bold black of my patterned paper. When I first sat down to find a color match, I could swear that it was aqua and not a light blue, but now it looks like I may have been a little color blind when choosing my matching colors. Oops! Just don't look too closely!

Stamps: Floral Whimsy, So Happy (Verve)
Paper: True Black, Aqua Mist, White (Papertrey Ink); 5th Avenue (Making Memories)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Square and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Black Diamond Stickles (Ranger), foam tape.

You're So Sweet - OCC Challenge

Today's card is for the latest OCC sketch challenge posted by Laurie. I stamped the butterfly from the fun set, Sweet Deal, by The Greeting Farm and colored it in fun colors to match my Urban Prairie patterned paper. The sentiment is from the Verve set, Sweet Valentine. To finish off my card, I inked the edges with white ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend!

Stamps: Sweet Deal (The Greeting Farm), Sweet Valentine (Verve)
Paper: Hollyhock (CTMH), Kraft (Bazzill), Urban Prairie (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), New Canvas (Palette)
Accessories: Labels One and Circle Nestibilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), paper flower (Prima), crochet flower (Maya Road), ribbon, brads, foam tape, thread, sewing machine.

Happy New Baby

When Papertrey Ink first came out with Bitty Baby Blessings, I just loved it, but I resisted buying it. I am trying to be more selective when it comes to buying stamps. I want ones that are not only cute and "in style", but also ones that I will use more than just once or twice. I finally decided to add it to my small collection of baby stamp sets. It is very versatile for both baby boy and baby girl cards and I think the designs won't be going out of style anytime soon.

I used Jen's Valentine's Sketch for You to Try for this card. It seem to fit my image and what I had pictured in my head pretty well.

Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Lemon Tart, Lavender Moon, Bitty Baby Blessings (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Rectangle and Long Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), flowers embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); ribbon (Papertrey Ink), crystals (Swarovski), foam tape, thread, sewing machine.

Beate's Back!

I was so excited when I was blurfing and happened to hear that Beate's back with her weekend sketch challenges! I love her sketches and her artwork is amazing! I used WSC68 for my card design.

I kept my card simple and didn't add a sentiment to it yet. I may go back and add one when I go to send this card out, but for now, I just used Twinkle Toes Huggabugg as my main image. The first time I saw these Huggabuggs at Stamping Bella, I just fell in love with them! I stamped her, colored with Copic markers and added bling to her.

Stamps: Twinkle Toes Huggabugg (Stamping Bella)
Paper: Berry Sorbet, White (Papertrey Ink); Olive (CTMH), Porcelain (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Square and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), tiny rhinestones (CTMH), ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Star Dust and Cotton Candy Stickles (Ranger), white gel pen, paper piercer, foam tape.

Monochromatic Viva La Verve

My card uses Amber's 3rd Viva La Verve for February. Her challenges can be found in the Verve forum on SCS here.

In addition to following the sketch, her "twist" is to make it monochromatic. I seem to be on a "Kraft" color kick lately - I like how it adds a little rustic, nature look! I chose to use greens with Kraft cardstock as my neutral color. I kept this card fairly simple. I think it was the first time I didn't use my Nestabilities on a card in a long while!

Stamps: Floral Whimsy (Verve)
Paper: Kraft (Bazzill), Olive, Vanilla Cream (CTMH), Paperie (Making Memories)
Ink: Olive (CTMH)
Accessories: Cornice border punch (Martha Stewart), Flower (Prima), button, foam tape.

Tea-Rific Friend

It feels weird not to design a card around hearts or the colors pink/red/brown! I suppose it's time to move on from Valentine's Day, though. My card for today uses Frances' sketch, MFTSC68. Challenges are posted in the MFT forum on SCS here.

I'm not sure if I'll make some St. Patrick's Day cards or jump right to Easter. For now, I wanted to use this adorable bunny! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Tea for Two (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Kraft (Bazzill), Indian Corn Blue (CTMH), White (Papertrey Ink), Chloe's Closet (Making Memories)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), Cornice border punch (Martha Stewart), Candy dots (Pebbles), Flower (Maya Road), foam tape, thread, sewing machine.

Valentine's Rag Quilt Bag

About 3 months ago, I stumbled onto the idea of making a rag quilt using leftover flannel fabric (see this post). Sabrina has been "into" carrying a purse around and stuffing it full of just about everything she comes in contact with. All of my bags are too large for her, so I decided to make her a rag quilt purse for Valentine's Day.

I bought a few different rag quilt bag patterns here, then I decided to just wing it for her bag. Last night, I started by cutting small squares for the front and back, then I figured out what the measurements for the sides and bottom would need to be for it to all fit together. This morning I sewed it all together, snipped all of the exposed seams, washed and dried it. She likes to drape the handles over her head, so I just made sure that they were long enough to fit over her head comfortably. Sorry for the slightly blurry photo... my flash batteries died while I was taking the photo and my hands weren't all that steady.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Simple Kids Valentines

This is a quickie post for today... Sabrina's ear is still bothering her, so we decided to keep her home today so she can lounge in her pjs. Since she isn't contagious, we went to her school this morning to deliver her Valentine's to her teachers, aides, therapists and classmates.

For her classmates (22) I opted not to make handmade cards for each one. In truth, I had planned to, but I just ran out of time. Instead, I purchased downloadable e-tags from Shabby Chic Crafts here. I downloaded the PDF and printed them onto Bazzill Kraft cardstock. I usually try to find a fun, non-candy option for the kids, but this year I decided to go with the traditional box of Sweethearts. I simply adhered the tags onto the back of each box. Since Sabrina was not feeling well last night, I signed the cards for her.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Nugget Tins

Why is it that I always wait until the last minute to finish gifts? Am I the only one who does this? It's not as if I don't know when Valentine's Day is going to be, but yet I never seem to get started early enough. I had planned on spending the morning leisurely finishing up gifts for Sabrina to take to school tomorrow, but the unexpected happened. None of us got very much sleep last night - Sabrina was agitated and tossed and turned for hours. After sleeping in this morning, she woke up tugging on her ear and wanted me to kiss it (a sure sign that it's an "owie"). After a trip to the doctor and waiting over an hour for her prescriptions, we are now back at home with antibiotics and ear drops for her ear infection and perforated ear drum. She is much happier now!

This year I had decided to keep gifts simple and to make them for her teachers, aides, therapists and a few of the very helpful ladies in the school office... My gift of choice is nugget tins, 17 in all. These tins fit 12 Hershey nuggets with a little room to spare. I stamped address labels and wrapped them around each nugget before filling each tin. Each tin is simply decorated with a band of cardstock/patterned paper, ribbon and a tag attached with baker's twine. I stamped the cuppie image, colored her and finished her off with a candy dot.

I'll be back tomorrow to show you the simple Valentine's that Sabrina will give to her classmates during their Valentine's Day party. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Life is Sweet (SASI), Holiday Treats and Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Cranberry (CTMH), White (PTI), Brenda Walton Sweet Talk paper pad (K & Company)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Rectangle Nestabilities and Tag Trio (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), tiny heart border punch, baker's twine (Martha Stewart); candy dot (Pebbles), address labels (Avery), Hershey's Nuggets, ribbon, foam tape.

For You - Elegant Birthday

I used Amber's Viva La Verve (VLVFeb02) sketch to make a birthday card. Her sketches always have a "twist" to them - this time it was a challenge to use no designer or patterned paper. This card will go to my girlfriend, Lori, who is celebrating her birthday next week with a big bash thrown by her DH. It should be a lot of fun!

To add a little pattern and texture to my card, I stamped the flourish border from Grateful Elegance and dry embossed dots onto the black circle (though you probably can't see them). I kept my embellishments to a minimum as my goal was for a simple, elegant card. Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Grateful Elegance, Meditations, So Happy (Verve)
Paper: True Black, Pure Poppy, White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: True Black, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Circle and Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Swiss Dots embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); cornice border punch (Martha Stewart), Star Dust stickles (Ranger), rhinestones (Kaiser), ribbon, foam tape.

Happy Heart's Day

Before I start on Sabrina's school Valentine's, I decided to make one more Valentine's Day card. This one is for DH, who doesn't frequent my blog so I think I'm safe to post this early (of course, this will be the one time he peeks...). I used Cindy's sketch, MFTSC67, for this one. It was a fun and challenging one for me!

This is one of the "louder" cards you'll see me posting. I tend to tone it down a bit, but this patterned paper was bright and fun, so I tried to let more of it show. Hopefully, it isn't too overpowering to the eyes... :)

Stamps: Hearts Galore (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Pure Poppy, White, Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink); Bee Mine mat deck (Marcella by K)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Long rectangle, petite oval and labels one Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Love Language embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); Markers (Copic), felt heart (American Crafts), button, waxy flax, heart brads, ribbon, foam tape, thread, sewing machine.

Ribbon Organization

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I didn't do any stamping over the weekend, so I don't have anything new to show right now. I spent the weekend trying to recover from the nasty cold I've had for over a week (still have a lingering cough) and trying to get my house cleaned and organized. I've decided that 2009 is the year that I get more organized and go through all of those boxes we've moved from house to house to house that now reside in the garage.

I've had a few requests to show you my new organized stamp room -- it's still a work in progress, but I can show you my new ribbon organization. This is a sampling of what I started with:

And this is the progress I made:

I got the idea from Nichole Heady here. I've tried various ribbon organization products, but this seems to be the best solution for me. I still keep large rolls of ribbon on spools, but for the ribbons that I have 5 yards or less, I decided to wind them onto inexpensive clothespins. I never knew there were clothespins like these - my mom always used the ones with the spring clip. These are round slotted clothespins that I found at the Dollar Tree. The glass jars are small penny/candy jars that I found at Target. I separate them by color - the last photo above is a close up is of my pink/brown ribbon jar! Now instead of rummaging through boxes, I can just grab a jar, shake it around and look for the ribbon that I want!

Since I got a good headstart on Valentine's Day cards, now I need to work on Valentine's for Sabrina's classmates and teacher/therapist gifts. Thanks for stopping by!

Some Bunny Loves You

Happy Friday!

I used Amber's first Viva La Verve sketch for February for this one. Her sketches are always so fun and always have a "twist" to them. The twist for this one was to use any type of embossing. I used my Love Language embossing folder for the subtle heart background.

I also used one of Basic Grey's new paper pad for this one, Porcelain... love it! In case you aren't familiar with BG, their patterned paper is often distressed -- so the lower right corner of the paper is the way it's supposed to be -- you're not seeing dirt or any weird shadows!

Stamps: Some Bunny (Verve)
Paper: Vanilla Cream, Berry Sorbet (PTI); Porcelain (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Love Language embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); Markers (Copic), tiny hearts border punch (Martha Stewart), corner rounder (EK Success), ribbon (PTI), tiny rhinestones (CTMH), foam tape.

Nine Years Ago...

... Dan and I were married at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA. Where does the time go? I made this card for him using Stamping Bella's Beeemine Huggabugg. Happy Anniversary, sweetie!

I used Julee's Mojo Monday #72 sketch. Her sketch was just perfect for this little image. After stamping her, I colored her with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils/odorless mineral spirits. The first time I attempted to color her hair black with my markers did not turn out well. She looked like she had 4 eyes. I ended up re-stamping my image and coloring her hair with pencils and blending them with OMS - worked much better! This also doubles as my card for the OCC challenge to use two or more hearts.

Stamps: Beeemine Huggabugg (Stamping Bella)
Paper: White (PTI), Spring Iris, Lilac Mist (CTMH); Hearts & Flowers (Heidi Grace Designs)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Love Language embossing folder, Cuttlebug (Provo Craft); Markers (Copic), Prismacolor Pencils (Sanford), Odorless mineral spirits, tiny heart border punch (Martha Stewart), paper piercer, felt hearts (American Crafts), heart brad, foam tape.

Verve Project Parade - "A Kid at Heart"

This is my final project for Verve Stamps as one of their January guest designers. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Julee again for the wonderful opportunity. It was an honor to be asked, and I had a great time playing along with all the Divas! Now on to my project ... beware - this is a lengthy post!

Verve's Project Parade is currently winding down, but you still have time to participate for a chance to win $25 to spend in the Verve store. Even if you don't play along, you won't want to miss some of the great creations HERE.

When Diva Jen first issued the "A Kid at Heart" project challenge, my first thought was of playing cards. My DH has such fond memories playing cards with his dad at a very young age (he says he started around ages 2-3). They started out with "War" and "Slap Jack" and by the age of 8, Dan was a card shark, playing real adult card games like Pinochle and Bridge. While I enjoy playing cards for fun, he's a little too intense of a card player for my taste. Enter Sabrina, our DD who is 5 1/2 now. She has just started to play cards with him, and she seems to enjoy it. That is "their" thing to do together.

So, even though we have numerous decks of cards around our house, I decided to make a special set of cards just for them. Instead of the traditional decks with clubs, hearts, diamond and spades, I used Verve's "Hearts on Fire" and "Hundred Hearts" to create an all heart deck. To begin with, I downloaded the Hoyle playing cards font (a free download available from many online font sites) and created Word text boxes to print the basic parts of the cards. After consulting with DH again, I learned that there actually is an official four-color deck created by a professional poker player. The colors are red = hearts, black = spades, green = diamonds and blue = spades. I adopted the same colors for my deck, but I used only hearts.

My playing cards are what I found to be the standard size - 2.5" x 3.5". I started with a white cardstock base. After printing the official Hoyle numbers and letters in the upper and lower corners, I stamped the small heart from "Hearts on Fire" under each. Next, I carefully measured where the center point of each heart should be and lightly marked each spot with a pencil so that I had a better idea of where the heart should be. Then, I used the slightly larger heart from "Hundred Hearts" to stamp the corresponding number of hearts onto each card. For the face cards, I downloaded images and sized them accordingly. I then carefully drew lines around each image with a black pen. I finished off the back of each card with a shimmery pattered paper, ran each card through my Xyron laminator, then I rounded the corners.

Once I finished my cards, I moved on to altering a small lunchbox tin which previously held Cherry Sours (yum!). I removed the hardware so that I could more easily decorate the box. I decorated the cover using the large open heart from "Hearts on Fire", then I stamped the words with my tiny Karen Foster snap alphabet stamps. The insides of the tin are finished off with 2 of my favorite quotes from "Hundred Hearts" atop a stamped background of the tiny heart border from the same set. Rhinestones and ribbon finish it off. Now Sabrina has a special deck of cards to play card games with her Daddy!

Inside of tin: Tin w/ all 52 cards:

A couple of project notes: If I ever make a deck of cards again, the next time 1) I will try to use a patterned paper with a solid white background that is thick enough so that the ink doesn't bleed through the patterned side OR 2) I will use copy paper. My deck is VERY thick! 3) Before I start laminating my cards, I will check to make sure that I have an extra lamination roll.

Playing Cards:
Stamps: Hearts on Fire, Hundred Hearts (Verve)
Paper: White (Georgia Pacific), Hearts & Flowers (Heidi Grace Designs)
Ink: Noir, Prussian Blue, L'amour Red, Viridian Leaf (Palette)
Accessories: Sticker machine, laminating cartridge (Xyron), Round-it-all (Zutter), black archival pen (Sakura).

Tin:
Stamps: Hearts on Fire, Hundred Hearts (Verve); Snap alphabet (Karen Foster)
Paper: White, Pure Poppy (PTI); Bubblegum (CTMH), Hearts & Flowers (Heidi Grace Designs)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Fresh Snow (PTI)
Accessories: Long Rectangles and Labels One Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), tiny hearts border punch (Martha Stewart), Sticker machine, laminating cartridge (Xyron), lunchbox tin (Target), felt hearts (American Crafts), 3/8" ribbon and rhinestones (Martha Stewart), 1/4" ribbon, button, waxy flax, paper piercer.

Sending You Smiles and HB

Sabrina wants to send hugs and kisses to her cousin Evie and wish her a very Happy Birthday!

This is my final card that I made using the sketches from Taylor's cupcake challenge anniversary. I used Vicki's TECC52VC sketch for my card below. I kept this one simple and didn't add a lot of layers or stitching. I just love this image of Who's That Girl from My Favorite Things. It was released as a Mother's Day stamp set, but the image is versatile for so many different occasions as well!

Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Happy Mother's Day (MFT), Thoughtful Florals (Verve)
Paper: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, White (PTI); Sugared (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), border punch (Martha Stewart), candy dots (Pebbles), ribbon, hemp, paper piercer, foam tape.

Cuppie Smooches - TECC52MD

Edit:
H. asked "How do you do your smooch?? Do you wipe off your base ink and color it in with a marker?".
Close! In this case, I carefully applied my ink to the stamp (I used a small Memento dew drop), avoiding the smooch. I then used a water-based red marker to color in the smooch, then I stamped the entire cuppie. Hope that helps!

Today's card uses Monika's TECC52MD sketch. At first I was intimidated by it since it is a round sketch, but once I sat down to work with it, I loved working with it! My card is fairly simple, but I like how it turned out and love that it came together so quickly. I stamped my cuppie on Kraft cardstock before I colored him for a fun change of pace!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Stamps: Love is Sweet (SASI)
Paper: Kraft, Poppy Red (PTI); Sweet (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle and Heart Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), ribbon, heart rhinestone (Martha Stewart), candy dot (Pebbles), foam boosters, foam tape.

Happy Hearts Day

I had so much fun playing with Donna's, TECC52DB, sketch! A few weeks ago, I was at Michael's and there was a new line of Making Memories product that screamed out to me to buy. Not only was it very pretty -- pink and black -- but the entire collection is called Sabrina. So, I did what any mom with a daughter named Sabrina would do -- I grabbed a basket and filled it up with all kinds of goodies! I finally broke open the paper pad and played with it today.

Once I layed out all of the squares, they were just begging to be stitched, so that's what I did -- I stitched all 12 squares, even the ones that are hidden under the image! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Love is Sweet (SASI)
Paper: True Black, White (PTI); Bubblegum (CTMH), Sabrina paper pad (Making Memories)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Rectangle Nestabilities and Double ended tags (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Markers (Copic), ribbon, paper piercer, white gel pen, foam tape, thread, sewing machine.
