TSC Wednesday... Polar Expressions
Good morning! It's really hard to get into the Christmas mindset when the temps are still over 100, but Stacy and I thought we'd give it a try anyway! For today's TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday, we are featuring Imaginisce Polar Expressions. Be sure to visit Stacy's blog for more inspiration and to see what her latest store specials are!
For my first card, I used Cindy's sketch, C4C4, as it was perfect for what I had in mind before I started. I added some stitching and a lot of edge distressing for a vintage look. Finally, I sprayed my image panel with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist (but that is almost impossible to see in the photo).
Next I went from vintage and layered to clean and simple! I used Fall to Layout #61 and created a simple, Post Office-friendly card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

What Cancer Cannot Do
Most {if not all} of us have been/will be touched by cancer at some point in our lives. I often think of my friends and family members who have battled against some form of cancer. Some have lost their battle while others still fight.
National Breast Cancer Awareness month is about to begin, and Stacy is teaming up with a family friend's breast cancer team, Trekkin' for the TaTas, to help them raise money for the Arizona Breast Cancer 3-Day. For the entire month of September, Stacy has been donating 10% of all sales from The Scrapbooking Cottage to their fundraising efforts. Be sure to stop by the store as there still are a few more days in September {plus, as an added bonus to you, she is offering free shipping as well}!
My card for today uses Mercy's sketch from last week, MTSC40. I kept the card simple so as to highlight the sentiment, What Cancer Cannot Do. While searching online for some small crochet embellishment patterns, I ran across this one for an awareness ribbon. I used embroidery floss to crochet my pink ribbon and stiffened it prior to attaching it to my card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Cancer is So Limited (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Cardstock: New Leaf, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Pink Carnation (CTMH)
Patterned Paper: Magical Wishes & A Sweet Life 6x6 combo pack (Webster's Pages)
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMagic Wheat (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Labels Eight (Spellbinders), Button (Papertrey Ink), Twine (May Arts), Embroidery floss (DMC), Foam tape.

More Whipper Snapper and Blog Candy Winner!
Good Morning! Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! Stacy and I are doing a crop weekend, so I hope to get a lot of scrapbooking and stamping in as well as some much needed girl time!
For my card today, I used two of the newest Whipper Snapper cling sets, designed by Anna Wight! I combined Homespun Quilt with Spirit of Christmas. I knew that I wanted to use the star quilt square, the angel and the sentiment Wish Upon a Star, but at first I couldn't figure out how to bring it all together. Not being a quilter myself, the first thing I thought to do when I saw the blank square was to add words inside of it. While flipping through CardMaker's Sketch Book: Birthday Celebration, I found the perfect sketch for what I wanted to do and was inspired to create this 4" x 9" card. I popped every other quilt square so that the sentiment stands out a bit. I am really happy with the end result -- it is very rare for me to have my final product come together as I first imagine it in my head!
Now for the blog candy winner...
A big thank you to everyone who visited and commented on my blog candy post. I appreciate your sweet comments, and I loved to hear your fall traditions and/or favorite fall activities. Random.org picked...

- Happy Blog Anniversary!!! It's been great following a very talented person. We just moved to Texas, but when we lived in Wisconsin we had a lot of traditions. How can you not love the fall air? We used to travel north to an Apple Orchard and pick up LOTS of apples, enjoy a carmel apple or maybe even fresh apple pie. We would go home and I would make my children's favorite Apple Crisp. Thanks for asking and thanks for sharing.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Good Morning! I'm back with another Whipper Snapper card! This one features the oh so cute snowman from Anna Wight's newly release set, Spirit of Christmas. Isn't he just adorable? I love everything about him... from the cute leaf on his head to the birds and birdhouse!
For my layout, I used Cindy's latest Crazy 4 Challenges sketch, C4C3, though I did move the trio of pearls to a slightly different spot. I went for more of a clean and simple look this time and used some non-traditional Christmas colors.

Whipper Snapper Release Day!
Good Morning!! Today is the release day for three new Anna Wight cling mount stamp sets at Whipper Snapper Designs! About a month ago, I received an email from the Anna Wight asking if I would to be one of the Whipper Snapper Featured Designers for September and October!! As shocked as I was {and still am!}, I couldn't say YES fast enough! A big thank you to Anna and also Lisa and John, the owners of Whipper Snapper, for this incredible opportunity!
Here is a preview of Anna's new sets:
And now for a few of my creations...
My first card was made with Homespun Quilt. I stamped, colored and punched each of the quilt squares and adhered them to the Vanilla Cream base. Then I carefully stitched in between them. I embossed the sentiment "Good friends are like Quilts. They age with you, yet never lose their warmth". I reserved the center 2 squares for it and popped it up with foam tape for some added dimension.
My next card features the Santa image from Spirit of Christmas. I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I paper-pieced his toy sack and the bag the tree sits in. I added Polar White Flower Soft to his mustache, beard, and hat/coat trim. As a final touch I added one of my own handmade crochet snowflakes!
My final card uses Anna's third set, Winter Quilt. I stamped the snowflake quilt square five times, punched them out and then added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles all around each snowflake. The squares were popped up on top of the kraft base which was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

In appreciation, I am offering a little blog candy, which includes:
I hope you're enjoying your weekend! I'll be back on Monday... Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Halloween!
Good morning! I'm back with another Halloween card! I think I've made more Halloween cards this year than ever before... I just hope I remember to send a few of them out!
I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #39 for my layout. It was such a fun one to use that I know I will be using it again soon! My image is from the newly release Pink Cat Studio set, Itty Bitty Halloween. Instead of adding a ribbon around the card, I substituted a strip of patterned paper and stitched it onto my Smokey Shadow rectangular panel. I also embossed the panel with the Cuttlebug spider web embossing folder, but it really doesn't show up well in the photo.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Itty Bitty Halloween (Pink Cat Studio)
Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Hallowhimsy (Imaginisce)

Accessories: Circle and Inverted Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Spider Web embossing folder (Provo Craft), Spider Web border punch (Martha Stewart), Markers (Copic), Brads, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

True Friend
Good morning! I decided to take another pass at Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #35 with today's card. If you recall, I started to use it on my Blessed Cousin card, but I didn't want to cover up the patterned paper, so I omitted a couple of the panels. I'm wondering if my SIL likes this one better? I think I'll just send her both {sorry, sis, that's my way of letting you know that I haven't sent off your package yet... next week I promise I will!}.
I stamped the flower and leaves from In Bloom, colored them and cut them all out. I first placed my leaves where I wanted them, then I popped the flower up on top of them. The ribbon was a free gift from a recent order from Ellen Hutson. I had to use it since it matched perfectly!

Blessed Cousin Card
Good Morning! My SIL asked me to make a special card for her to give to a very special person, and this is what I came up with. I hope they both like it! I started out intending to use Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #35, but as I was making the card, I decided to leave out 2 panels and keep the layout a little simpler. I also didn't want to cover up the gorgeous patterned paper! It's one of my favorites from the Basic Grey Indian Summer line.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow for TSC Wednesday!

Princess SFYTT
Good Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I used Jen's latest Sketch For You To Try for my Princess Anya {or Princess Sabrina according to my DD!} card. I colored this image last week when I got together with some girlfriends for some stamping time. It sure is fun to meet, but I rarely seem to get much done in a group setting. I am much more productive when I am alone in my stamp room {I hope that doesn't mean that I am anti-social?!}. Anyway, I decided to take some Anya images and my Prismacolor pencils along with me. Instead of Gamsol, I used Goo Gone to blend them. While I love my Copics, they are a bit heavy to lug around with me {I never seem to be able to plan ahead and bring just a few}, and I would like to get better coloring with the pencils. I did color her skin with my Copics, though.
When I sat down to make the card, Sabrina spotted the image and wanted to take it and put it in her secret stash. I had to promise to give her the card -- she barely let me finish and photograph it!
Card is 5"x 5"
Supplies ~
Stamps: Princess Anya (The Greeting Farm)
Cardstock: Intense Teal (Prism), Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: Ooh La La for Her (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Wheat (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Rectangle and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Square Punches (EK Success), Prismacolor pencils, Goo Gone, Markers (Copic), Star Dust Stickles (Ranger), Flowers (Prima), Pearls (Kaisercraft), Paper Piercer, Foam tape.

Express Yourself
Good Morning! When I first saw Fall to Layout #59, the purse on the sketch reminded me that I hadn't used one of Verve's newer sets, Express Yourself, yet. So, I took the sketch literally and used the purse image. This also doubles as my Viva La Verve card, VLVSep02, which was to create a card smaller than the standard size of 4.25" x 5.5". My card is 4" x 4".
I hope you're having a great weekend so far! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Harvest
As summer winds down, my SIL and BIL in MN are preparing for harvesting their fields of corn and beans. I made this card for them, as it never hurts to send happy thoughts for a bountiful harvest. I used Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch #103 and more Basic Grey Indian Summer patterned paper. I know when I show this to Dan, his comment will be, "but they don't harvest pumpkins". He always tries to keep me on my toes with his quick wit... LOL! I think they will get the idea just the same!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

My card is a simple one that I put together using last week's SCS Sketch #244. My patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey Indian Summer pad. It's full of so many rich autumn colors that it made me want to use the JustRite set, Autumn Blessings.
I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

TSC Wednesday... C.C. Designs
Good morning! It's time for another TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday! Stacy and I are featuring some of the new C.C. Designs Sugarplums and AmyR Sentiments. Be sure to visit the store to see all the new products, see the great deals and receive free shipping on all orders during the month of September.
For my first card, I used Apple Emma. I just love this image! It would be so adorable to use on a layout of an apple picking trip... hmmm... I couldn't resist pairing her with some apple patterned paper that I picked up at Target a few weeks ago.
My second card features Witch Emma. Doesn't she just make the cutest witch? I stamped and colored Emma with Copic markers, then I cut her out and popped her on top of the white panel. Her outfit is finished off with Star Dust Stickles for some bling.

Made with Love
Good afternoon! I hope you're all having a great week so far! When I first saw Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #34, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I made some grape jelly that I plan on giving as gifts, and I wanted to make a simple card to go along with it. This sketch was perfect for what I wanted. I kept my card fairly simple so that I could easily produce a few more to go along with the jelly. I used the Papertrey set, Fruitful.
I tilted the jar so that you could see the top of it. I wrapped a piece of natural twill around the jar screw band, then I wrapped some twine on top of that a few times and finished it with a simple bow.

there's no one like you
Good morning! For those of you in the U.S., I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. We've been hanging out and enjoying family time. I persuaded Dan to work on a project in my craft room, so I now have 2 shelves along the side of one wall. I still have to reorganize my supplies, but I now have freed up some space on my work table for my die cut machine, paper trimmer and even have some space to stand and stamp. I no longer have to pick things up, move them on the floor, then move them back when I am finished!
I had a little bit of time this morning, so I decided to play along in a new challenge, Crazy 4 Challenges. I used Cindy's sketch, C4C1.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween Memories
Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
After making my Halloween card, I still had my Bo Bunny Boo Crew supplies on my table, so I decided to scrapbook a layout of Sabrina's Halloweens, 6 in all so far. I love layouts that show photos over a period of time and show how much a person has changed/grown. I have completed scrapbook layouts of her first 3 Halloweens, but the photos from the last 3 remain in the "to scrapbook" pile. As any scrapbooker will honestly tell you, I'm in no way "caught up", but I don't worry about that. After all, for me, scrapbooking is a life-long hobby which allows me to preserve our family memories. Plus, as an avid photographer and a scrapbooker, being caught up is a very unrealistic scenario.

Right side:
When I first saw Mercy's sketch, MTSC37, the first thing I thought of was a scrapbook page with 3 photos. My first project with her sketch was a card, but in the back of my mind I knew that I wanted to come back to do a layout.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Cardstock: Concord Dot, Orange Citrus Dot (Bo Bunny); White (Bazzill)
Patterned Paper: Boo Crew (Bo Bunny)
Accessories: Labels Three (Spellbinders), Scalloped Scallop border punch and Scalloped Photo Corner punch (EK Success), Word Window punch (SU!), Scallop Corner Rounder punch (Marvy), Rhinestones, Boo Crew Combo Stickers (Bo Bunny), Brads (CTMH), Paper piercer, Font: Times New Roman, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Sweet
Good morning! This morning I was inspired to make a Halloween card using My Favorite Things, Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl. I used Cindy's sketch, MFTSC97. Note: I wasn't able to find the direct link to the set, so it might be out of stock currently.
My patterned paper is from Bo Bunny Boo Crew. It's so adorable and perfect for Halloween and even fall-themed paper crafts! Stacy has it available in her store, The Scrapbooking Cottage, as a paper bundle here. For the month of September she is donating 10% of all sales to a 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk team {Trekkin' for the Tatas}, and as a bonus to you, FREE SHIPPING on all orders.
I hope you're enjoying the weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Viva La Verve Thinking of You

Good morning! August flew by so quickly, and I found myself unable to play with any of the Viva La Verve sketches with a "twist". I thought I better get into September quicker, so my card today uses Amber's 1st sketch for the month, VLVSEP01. The "twist" is to use little round things ~ I chose pearls, which are one of my favorite little embellishments.
I used one of the new August release sets, Enjoy. The image is a flower or a butterfly, depending on which way it is stamped. It's one of my new favorites! I sprayed a light coating of Glimmer Mist on my image/panel, but I'm not sure if you can see it in the detail shot below.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to having both some "me" {aka "stamping"} time and family fun time as well over the next 3 days!

for my teacher
Good morning! I've been seeing the cutest Anya cards being made, and it's inspired me to pull out one of my favorites, Teacher Anya. I love this sweet image. I tried to photograph Sabrina holding an apple on her first day of school this year, and she kept wanting to take a bite out of it... I kept telling her that it was just a prop, but she wasn't having anything to do with that!

I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #33 for my layout. I first stamped and colored Anya on white cardstock, then I chose my patterned paper which has cream instead of white as a neutral in it ~ do you ever do that? I swear I do it all the time! Instead of redoing my image, I decided to sponge around her to create an inner glow. I'll be adding this card to my teacher card stash!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Teacher Anya (The Greeting Farm), Sentiment from Vintage Picnic (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Hibiscus Burst, White (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Teacher's Pet (Imaginisce)
Ink: VersaMagic Wheat, Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Markers (Copic), Flowers (Imaginisce), Pearl (Kaisercraft), Picot cord, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

TSC Wednesday... Dream Street
Good morning! It's time for another TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday! Stacy recently got in the "Sam" line from Dream Street Papers. It's just the cutest fall/back-to-school/earthy line! We paired it with Core'dinations cardstock which makes distressing and embossing so much fun! Be sure to check out her blog for more inspiration and also her store, The Scrapbooking Cottage for many supplies used in my projects.
When I sat down to work on my project, I pulled out all of my Dream Street supplies ~ patterned paper, alphabet and die cuts, I decided to challenge myself to make a card with NO stamping. I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try and this is the result:

While I still had the supplies out, I took another look at the sketch and thought that it would make a fun scrapbook layout. Yea! I scrapbooked! I haven't scrapbooked in ages... I'm finally starting to realize that I can do all the same things on a layout that I can on a card, but just on a larger scale. Here's my layout:
