Winter Mittens Thanks

Happy New Year's Eve! I found a little time to stamp! Yea! I made this card for Verve's Winter Mittens Contest. The image was a free download back in October that Julee generously made available again through the end of the year. You can download it here. My color inspiration came from the cupcakes in Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #4, but I don't think that my card fully qualifies for her challenge. I did use a winter image, but I opted to turn it into a thank you card since I need to send quite a few of these out very soon!! Finally, I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #50 for my layout.

My colors are actually Chocolate and Aqua, though it looks more like Black. I also embossed the Chocolate panel with Snow Dots, but it's impossible to see in the photo. This is such a fun image -- I printed out several more so that I can make more thank you cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a fabulous New Year's Eve (I'm fairly certain that I will not be awake to ring in the new year!)!!!

TSC Wednesday... Happy New Year!

Good morning! It's time for the last TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday of the year. Stacy and I are featuring the Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade line this week. It's not just for holiday cards or layouts, but rather perfect for any winter crafts! I kept my card simple so that you could see the gorgeous design on the patterned paper {though in reality, the photograph doesn't do the paper justice}. I added a strip of fine glitter, punched a glitter snowflake and used my JustRite stamps for my sentiment.

Be sure to stop by the store and take advantage of the last special of the year -- 15% off your total purchase!

I hope you all are having a wonderful last week of the year! We had a quiet but very nice Christmas at home {it was very exciting to see just how excited Sabrina was about Santa this year}. He {and all of our friends and family} spoiled her with wonderful gifts! Dan is back to work {but yea! it's a short week for him}. I haven't been doing much crafting this week, but I'm sure I'll be back to my regular posting soon... I don't get very much time with Sabrina when she is in school, so it's nice to enjoy the one-on-one time. She's all about playing with her new toys and watching the Polar Express movie (in her pjs, of course) over and over again. Since she saw it on the last day of school, she's been asking for it repeatedly. Lucky me, I was able to snag the last copy at our Wal-Mart 2 days before Christmas.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I'd also like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2010!!!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Holiday Demi Phrases Round 2", Times New Roman 15 pt font (JustRite)
Cardstock: Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah), Plum Pudding (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Snowy Serenade (Bo Bunny), Glitter paper (Marcella by K)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Snowflake punches, Glitter (Martha Stewart), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas!

Good morning! I'd like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas! Since coming home from CA on Monday, I've spent the week finally mailing my Christmas cards and packages, wrapping gifts and finishing up last minute tasks. I even braved Wal-Mart 2 days before Christmas! Now that it is Christmas Day, I can finally relax! I still have to cook Christmas dinner, but we are not hosting any guests, so there is no pressure there!

My cards for today (I actually made two of the same) will go into my 2010 Christmas card stash - yea! This one is for Sparkle's 2010 Christmas Card Challenge #3 which is a sketch challenge. I loved her use of blue and red in her sample, so I used similar colors with a little green thrown in as well. I had some of the Lockhart Holly Cupcake images already colored and cut out as well as the JustRite sentiment, so the cards came together fairly quickly.

I'm off to spend the day with Dan and Sabrina... I have this post scheduled, so by now she is probably well into her opening her gifts! I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Holly Cupcake (Lockhart), Times New Roman 15 pt font (JustRite)
Cardstock: Pure Poppy, Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink); Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah)
Patterned Paper: Rustic Snowflakes (Papertrey Ink), Glitter paper (Marcella by K)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Versamagic Wheat (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Snowflake embossing folder (Provo Craft), Circle punch, Scalloped scallop border punch (EK Success); Snowflake punch (Martha Stewart), Markers (Copic), Ribbon, Foam tape.

Teacher Gift Card Sets

Good morning! Merry Christmas Eve! One more sleep until Sabrina gets to rip into her presents! She is SO excited to see what Santa is going to bring her this year!

These are some simple card sets that Sabrina gave to her teachers and para aides at school last week. The patterned paper is all Making Memories Tinsel. I was frantically assembling these the day before the last day of school while {Stacy} punched snowflakes out of glitter paper for me {thanks SO much for your help, Stacy!!!}. I popped a snowflake on each card and didn't add any further embellishments so that they would be mail-friendly!

Here's a quick look at the individual cards (click on images to enlarge):

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Good morning! Whether you are preparing for Christmas or doing other things, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Each year I try to make Christmas cards for my mom and dad. I try to keep them fairly simple, flat and embellishments to a minimum so they will be mail-friendly. This year I made a photo card with a big "postage stamp" of Sabrina. Cardstock: Topiary (CTMH)
Patterned Paper: Mistletoe & Pear (Basic Grey)

Peace On Earth

Good morning! Quick post for today as I really need to finish packing and get things ready for our trip to CA. Sabrina has been watching Charlie Brown Christmas non-stop (it's one of my favorites, too!), so I thought I'd make a card with the Peanuts gang. I used Mercy's latest sketch, MTSC52 and used traditional Christmas colors of red and green for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #2.

I'm sorry the lighting is all wonky - I took the photo quickly and not with my normal camera as that is packed and ready to go!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Peanuts Gang Caroling (Stampabilities)
Cardstock: Pure Poppy, True Black, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny (Dot), October Afternoon (music), Red glitter (Marcella by K)

TSC Wednesday... Lockhart

Good morning! I have been super busy getting ready for Christmas, so I haven't had a lot of time in my craft room. The tree is decorated (yea!), and I am finished with most of my Christmas shopping. I spent the entire weekend baking, then the last couple of days making tags for my baked goodies. It's time for TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday! Stacy and I are featuring Lockhart stamps today.

I have a lot of gifts to pass out, so I made 20 tags. I used Holly Cupcake (sorry, it is out of stock in the store right now). I stamped and colored my cupcakes, added some Xmas Red Stickles to the berries, punched the image out with a circle punch, then I sponged the edges with Versamagic Wheat. I stamped the top sentiment using JustRite Holiday Demi Phrases and spelled out "Love From Sabrina" using the JustRite Times New Roman 15 pt font. I used my circle Nestabilities to cut the larger and scalloped circles and did more sponging. I popped my smaller circle onto the larger circle and the entire scalloped circle is popped onto the tag.

Here's a close-up of the tag:

My tag base is Kraft cardstock which I added a scallop border to on the bottom and a strip of glitter. I dry embossed the rest with my Snow Dots embossing folder. Finally, I added some ribbon and a couple of jingle bells to some green/white baker's twine.

Be sure to visit Stacy to see her wonderful creation and to see the weekly store special! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Holly Cupcake (Lockhart), Holiday Demi Phrases, Times New Roman 15 pt (JustRite)
Cardstock: Kraft (Bazzill), Pure Poppy, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamagic Wheat (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Snow Dots embossing folder (Provo Craft), Circle punch, Scalloped scallop border punch (EK Success), Markers (Copic), Glitter, Baker's twine (Martha Stewart), Eyelet (CTMH), Xmas Red Stickles (Ranger), Ribbon, Jingle bells (Michael's), Fray Check (Dritz), Foam tape.

Crazy Mojo

Good morning! I'm trying to get over a cold and haven't been sleeping well, but I woke up feeling rested this morning, so I decided to see what I could created with Julee's latest Mojo Monday #116 sketch. I also combined this with the latest Crazy 4 Challenges #15, to make a theme card with snowmen or snowflakes.

I was excited to use a few new things and was pleased that I could actually use them all together! First I pulled out the oh so adorable Pure Innocence set, Merry Kissmas. It arrived in my mailbox yesterday, and I couldn't wait to ink it up! I stamped and colored the sweet image and finished off the snow hats with Star Dust Stickles. I embossed the sentiment "Merry Kissmas" with gold embossing powder. My patterned paper is from KI Memories -- I stumbled across it at Target the other day -- can you believe it was on clearance and thrown on an end-cap along with other craft goodies?! The ribbon is some felt saddle stitched ribbon that I found on my last trip to Michael's with Stacy.

I stamped the mistletoe on one of my pink circular panels, then embossed both with my snowflake embossing folder. A little stitching, gold brads and a buttony bow finish off the rest of my card.

I'm going to clean up my craft room and go see about checking some other Christmas items off my list... oh there is SO much to do! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and as always, thank you SO much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Merry Kissmas (My Favorite Things)
Cardstock: Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah), Chablis (Bazzill), Garden Green (CTMH)
Patterned Paper: Good Tidings (KI Memories)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

Merry Christmas Snowman and Sheep

Hello! Happy weekend! I've been working on some Christmas gifts, but I took a break to play with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch, MTSC51. This is my card for my SIL and BIL in MN. Mary loves lambs, so I used the Whipper Snapper image, Snowman and Sheep. In order to highlight the sheep, I stamped an extra one, colored and added liquid applique, then cut it out and popped it onto my main image.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Snowman and Sheep (Whipper Snapper), Sentiment from Ornamental Christmas (Verve)
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Snowflake (MAMBI), Stripe (My Mind's Eye)

Simple Thank You

Good morning! Can you believe it's just 15 days until Christmas? Yikes! Every year I mean to do a December Daily album, but I never get to it. Since this is day 10, I guess I'll try again next year. Now onto my card... today it's a fairly simple one. I'm working on some gifts and have been wracking my brain trying to come up with ideas. I think I'm going to make some simple card sets, and this is one of the cards. My patterned paper is part of a fun pack that I found at Target this week - Making Memories Tinsel.

Stacy and I are currently glitter fanatics, and I'm doing my best to try to use some of mine! Here's a detail shot of the fine glitter on the snowflake. I topped my snowflake with a button and some baker's twine.

The weather has finally cooled off here, so that means Sabrina and I have caught a cold (actually, we are on the fence -- not quite well but not fully sick... yet). Of course, this is no time to be sick as Sabrina has 6 more days of school and a couple of class parties before winter break. I still need to finish decorating our tree, shop for Christmas, wrap presents, make gifts, bake cookies AND send out our Christmas cards, then we are off to CA for an early Christmas with my family. So, in case my posts seem sporadic for the next couple of weeks, you'll know why!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! One more day until the weekend!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Signature Greetings (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Select White, Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Tinsel (Making Memories)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Snowflake border punch, Large snowflake, Baker's twine, Glitter (Martha Stewart); Button (Papertrey Ink), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

TSC Wednesday... Pink Cat Studio

Good morning! It's time for TSC {The Scrapbooking Cottage} Wednesday! Stacy and I are featuring some of the new Lily winter stamps by Pink Cat Studio. I am using Lily Hot Cocoa. I used the JUGS10 sketch (rotated 90 degrees) for my layout. I added Liquid Applique for the furry part of her hood, sleeves and bottom of her coat.

I punched a couple of snowflakes, glittered them, then I put them on top of a Heidi Swapp clear acetate snowflake and added my sentiment on top. I colored my clear rhinestones with my R89 Copic sketch marker before adding them to my card.

Be sure to visit Stacy to see her lovely creation and also to see what her store special is for this week. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Believe in the Magic

Good morning! Today I'm playing in Sparkle's first Christmas Card Challenge for 2010. She challenged us to use a Santa image, so I pulled out Santa in Chimney Riley. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #47 for my layout and used my current favorite patterned paper, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.

I still need to write and mail out my Christmas cards for this year, but I want to stay on top of things and make sure that I start on my stash for next Christmas, so you'll be seeing Christmas cards throughout the year!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Be Merry and Bright

Good morning! I pulled out this sheet of Basic Grey Nook & Pantry patterned paper out a couple of days ago, but it didn't quite work with my layout, so I set it aside. I noticed it sitting on my craft table, matted and already stitched, so I decided to use it with Card Positionings Systems Sketch 145. When I first saw the sketch, I immediately thought of Claire's set, Seasons of Love - Tags, so I stamped the star and sentiment and cut it out with my largest star Nestability. She has several sets like this that are Nestie friendly -- they are SO fun and versatile!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

With Gratitude MTSC50

Good morning! I had a chance to play with Mercy's latest sketch today, MTSC50. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to use the gorgeous circle scroll from Verve's newest set, Thankful Accents. I embossed mine so that it would stand out a little more and I added tiny pearls around it. Once again, I pulled out some patterned paper and I just didn't like how busy it made my card look, so I used the Damask Frame embossing folder on both of my Vintage Cream layers for a more subtle pattern. Finally, I finished off my card with some 1" sheer May Arts ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend before Monday rolls around!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Thankful Accents (Verve)
Cardstock: True Black, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark Watermark (Tsukineko)

Mojo Grateful Heart

Good morning! I first pulled out Julee's latest Mojo sketch, Mojo115, and some new Verve sets, but my end result turned out nothing like I had imagined! I started with a couple of pieces of Basic Grey patterned paper and pulled the colors Dark Chocolate and Melon Berry from it, but in the end, I went with no patterned paper! I swapped out a busy background for tiny hearts embossed onto Vintage Cream. I stamped the hearts from Thankful Accents around my die cut circle and punched a couple of butterflies for the center. Finally, I used the Grateful Heart Plain Jane for my sentiment. I wanted to emboss it in dark brown or cream so it would stand out more, but I could only find some silver pearl embossing powder in my drawer. It reads "Give thanks with a grateful heart".

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Thankful Accents, Grateful Heart Plain Jane (Verve)
Cardstock: Dark Chocolate, Melon Berry, Vintage Cream

Thanks a Latte Gift Box

Good morning! Today I'm playing along in the JUGS9 challenge, which is to use a template to create a holiday gift package. I used one of the Papertrey Timeless Templates created by Lauren. This one is called Get a Handle on It. I think one of the nicest gifts you can give someone is not necessarily for a birthday or special occasion, but a "Just Because" gift and that's exactly what I made today (sorry, yes I realize the challenge was to make a holiday gift package ~ at least the contents is a holiday gift!).

The box is 3.5" x 3.5" x 3.5". It is the perfect size for many fun items. When I was at Starbucks the other day, I saw that they had the cutest mini coffee cup ornaments. It looks exactly like the cup you get your hot coffee to go in! I knew that I just had to get this for April, one of Sabrina's wonderful para aides at school. I rarely see her without coffee in hand! She is just wonderful with Sabrina, too ~ she gets her to eat practically anything and everything! Sometimes Sabrina can be a handful, but if anyone can get her to listen, April can... and Sabrina absolutely adores her!!

I started with a Kraft base and for my image panel, I embossed "Thanks a Latte" with black embossing powder and stamped the cup partially over it. I added some yummy thick ribbon to complete the packaging.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Delightful & Delicious (Verve)
Cardstock: Kraft, Hibiscus Burst, True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Hibiscus Burst (Papertrey Ink), Versamark Watermark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Labels Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Get a Handle on It template (Papertrey Ink), Damask embossing folder (Provo Craft), Word window punch (SU!), Corner rounder (Zutter), Cropadile, Long reach punch, Craft knife, Black embossing powder, Pearls (Kaisercraft), Ribbon, Red line tape, Foam tape.

I added some crystal microbeads to her hat and Star Dust stickles to her outfit for some sparkle!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
