MTME October Release Day!!

Hello! Today is the My Time Made Easy © October release day! All the products that the team has been peeking are now available in the store HERE!! There are 8 new stamp sets, 4 digital stamp sets, 5 templates and 3 cut files.. The entire team is posting, so you won't want to miss any of it.

Debbie Marcinkiewicz, October Guest Designer

Now, on to my project for today... I have a little "Boo" gift set (for those of you unfamiliar, "You've been Boo'd" is the Halloween equivalent to Secret Santa).

I used the In Suspense © template. The idea behind this template is to not only "suspend" it from the door knob of the recipient, but to also put them in "suspense" of what surprise could be hanging on their door. What a wonderful treat to find, no matter what the occasion!

I printed a sheet of Sara's Chocolate Candy Corn digi paper (from the Chocolate Halloween collection). I just love this pink/brown/green color combination.. it makes for a fun change from traditional Halloween colors. I only wish they made candy corn this color, too! The template has an optional cut-out window. I opted to cut out the window and add a layer of pink cardstock inside (you could also use vellum or even acetate to create a clear window). Below is a closer look of the window portion. You can see the outline of the label (from A Secret Surprise ©) that fits perfectly inside the cut-out. The spider web, spider and sentiments are all from Catherine's sweet Halloween stamp set, A Spooky Surprise ©.

I added stitching around the box and tied some sheer ribbon onto it. I cut out the center of a doily (with a Spellbinders Standard Circle Nestabilities die) and put it around the portion that hangs on the door knob. I added pink rhinestones on the scallops around the doily. Below is a closer look at the top portion of the template.

Here's another look at the matching card. I copied the cut-out doily theme here and kept my card fairly simple.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MTME Sneak Peek Day 2 - Grab a Cup!

Hello! Today is the second day of sneak peeks for the My Time Made Easy © October release. This month is big - the biggest MTME release ever! Today I am showcasing the new Grab a Cup © template.

Be sure to visit Lauren, Catherine, Katie and Pam to see more with Grab a Cup ©. Tammy and Debbie (our October guest designer) will be posting cards featuring some of the new stamp sets. And, please be sure to visit Ashley Cannon Newell, our special guest designer.. she has a fabulous project to show you!

Here's a look at my complete gift set. I made a matching card to go along with Grab a Cup ©, which I filled with a bag of toasted pumpkin seeds. The polka dot digi patterned paper was created by Kristin and is part of the new Coffee Beans collection. I used the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace border and corner punch on my card, the tag and under the cup (to make it look like it is sitting on a doily). I also added tiny pearls along all the punched borders.

(click on image to enlarge)

Below is a closer look at the cup and tag. The sentiments, boxes and checkmark are all from the new stamp set, Fancy a Cuppa? ©. You can get a better look at the pearls in the shot below. I used 3 mm and 4 mm white flat back pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Below, I moved the tag to the side so that you can get a better view of the cup. I added stitching around all the decorative layers. The cup sits atop a base, which I added some gingham ribbon around to look like pleats.

Here's a close-up of the cup. I stamped tiny flowers inside each polka dot with Versamark Watermark ink. The flowers are also from Fancy a Cuppa? ©.

Here's a look at the matching card. The sentiment is from Grab a Cup Sentiments © and the flower is the same flower that I stamped in the small polka dots.

Finally, here's a detail shot of the card:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with the entire team for the official release!

I'm getting ready to head out of town for my niece's wedding (actually, I'm already gone since this is a scheduled post). SCRS Operation Write Home Birthday Bash

Hello! Today Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is celebrating the Operation Write Home Birthday Bash by hosting a challenge. If you are unfamiliar with them, OWH's mission is to support our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards for them to send home to their loved ones, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.

The SCRS challenge is to make any fall-themed card.  You have until next Thursday, 9/30, to enter the challenge. Everyone who participates will get 10% off any purchases made within the next week. Be sure to head on over to the Sparkle Creations blog for more details, to link your card and get your discount code!

This is the card that I made for OWH. I used Traveling Josh for my image and kept it relatively simple so that it would fit in a standard-sized envelope. I've been wanting to make some cards for quite some time, so this was just the push that I needed. There are some basic guidelines for any cards sent to OWH -- you can check it all out HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #3

Note: Edited to add direct links below.

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #3! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

Today I was in the mood to use some non-traditional Christmas colors. I pulled out a few papers from Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather and let the aquas and purples inspire my creation. I used JB-08765 Old Fashioned Christmas and made a shaker out of the center. I started to use Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #86, but I ended up leaving off a couple of panels before I was finished.

Here's a close-up of the shaker:

Hello! Today we are introducing JB-09240 Give Thanks Nested Frames on the JustRite Inspiration blog. If you'd like to see more samples, please visit the blog for links to all the designers who have made projects with this new set. It is a beautiful set of 3 small sentiments, 3 small frames and 3 large frames that coordinate with all Nested Sentiments and Verse.

I used the lovely quote by Albert Camus which reads, "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower". I stamped the quote with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and cut it out using Spellbinders Small Deckled Mega Rectangle Nestabilities. I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink and popped it inside one of the larger frames (cut out and matted). I added some distress ink to my white lace and added some fuchsia rhinestones on the lower corners.

Wishing You a Lifetime of Happiness

Hello! Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I've managed to get some "me" (aka stamping) time in as well as family time, so it's been a good weekend here. Today I have a card that I made for my niece, Evie, and her fiance, JR. They are getting married next weekend.. I cannot believe the day is almost here!!

Her wedding colors are black and cream AND she loves butterflies, so that's what I went with for the card. I pulled out the newly released (perfect timing!) Verve set, Love Story, and stamped the frame and sentiment. I created the butterfly border with Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punches. I added some subtle dry embossing on both the black and smaller cream layer, though it's hard to see in the photo. I also added cream pearls to the center of each butterfly. Some sheer ribbon, pearl trinket pins and a little stitching finish off the card.

Finally, I have to show you a photo of Sabrina in the dress that she is wearing to the wedding. My SIL, Mary (Evie's mom), made this beautiful satin dress for her (as well as dresses for her granddaughters) -- pretty amazing, huh?! I can't believe how grown up she looks in this photo (even though she doesn't have her 2 front teeth!).. : )

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Friday Challenge 036

Hello! It's time for another JustRite Friday Challenge! This week is a color challenge, and the colors are Black (Copic 100), Ivory (Copic E50 - Eggshell) and Dark Red (Copic R29-Lipstick Red). There's also a twist - to add a handmade embellishment to your project.

I used the newly released JustRite set, JB-09240 Give Thanks Nested Frames. I stamped one of the smaller frames in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut it out with Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangle Nestabilities (cutting it in two passes as Debbie showed here). I added Give Thanks with Memento Lady Bug ink. I added a thin black mat to the framed sentiment and popped it with foam tape onto my lightly embossed ivory layer (with Spellbinders Flower Silhouette Impressabilities). I added two scalloped borders and adhered 3 mm shiny silver pearls to each scallop. For my handmade embellishment, I used a crochet flower and added a rimstone to the center.

Here's a close-up of the crochet flower, rimstone and shiny pearls:

Give Thanks Nested Frames is a set of 3 sentiments, 3 small frames and 3 larger frames:

Back to School Teacher Gifts

Hello! This past weekend I finally managed to set aside some time to make some back to school teacher gifts. OK, so this is Sabrina's 5th week of school already, but better late than never, right?! For awhile now, I've been wanting to make some corner bookmarks. Beate has a fabulous tutorial here. And, Denise, in particular, has been inspiring me with her fabulous bookmarks here, here and here. I thought that a bookmark would make a nice little gift.

I decided to make identical ones for some of Sabrina's teachers and para aides. I knew that I wanted to use the sweet Pure Innocence stamp, Apple For You, from My Favorite Things. I wasn't sure what papers I wanted to use until I opened my email and discovered that Zoe Pearn had released a new collection called School Days (available at Sweet Shoppe Designs). It was perfect timing as I adore all of Zoe's sweet designs. Plus, the fact that the papers are digi meant that I wouldn't have to worry about running out!

I stamped and colored the little girl with Copic markers then I added some Liquid Glass to the apple to make it shine a little. I had Sabrina sign the back of each one. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

This week, it’s the Stamper’s Dream design team! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

For my card today, I chose to work the inviting wreath image from JB-09775 From Our House. Next, I pulled out a couple of my favorites -- a great sketch (Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #85) and new pretty paper (from Basic Grey Jovial). I stamped the wreath 3 times and colored it with Copic markers and Spica Glitter pens. I also stamped and colored the border, cut it out like a frame and popped it on top of the center image (the center image is double popped for more dimension). I added a couple of layers of holly punched edges and some stitching.

Happy Fall -- SCRSC10

Hello! It's time another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Thanks to all of you who played along last week! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Monday). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is a color challenge, and your inspiration colors are orange, green and cream.

I chose some papers from the Kaisercraft Lush collection and decided the colors and soft patterns would coordinate with Fall Charlotte. I colored the images with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress and hat. My strips of paper and layout were inspired by the Mojo Monday 156 sketch. I added stitching to join the strips of patterned papers and finished my card off with some 3 mm and 4 mm silver flatback pearls. I love using pearls instead of brads and especially love the look of shiny silver pearls. I've searched around very extensively for these and was so happy when I found them at Pizzazz Aplenty. Judy has lots of wonderful embellishments at her store, so be sure to stop by and take a look!

For more inspiration, please visit the SCRS blog to see the design team's wonderful creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Fall Charlotte (Sparkle Creations), Sentiment from 2009 Autumn Tags (Papertrey Ink)

Accessories: Classic Rectangles LG, Scalloped Classic Rectangles LG Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Dotted Wave border punch (EK Success), Markers (Copic), Silver pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty), Crochet lace (May Arts), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Mojo Happy Birthday

If you are looking for my Sparkle Creations Release Day post, please scroll down or click HERE!

Hello! Happy weekend! I have a few friends with September birthdays, so I thought I should get going on some cards before they become belated birthday cards.. : ) I also wanted to play with the latest Mojo sketch.

I started with some papers from the Crate Paper Restoration collection.. yummy! My cupcake is from one of Verve's new releases, Carpe Cupcake. I colored the top with Copic markers and paper pieced the bottom, added some Star Dust Stickles and coarse glitter for the sprinkles. After I cut it out with Spellbinders Standard Circle Nestabilities, I decided it needed a frame, so I added the dotted frame from Waltzingmouse's Faux Fun Circles, matted it onto a larger circle and popped the entire image over a doily (distressed with Versamagic Wheat). The sentiment is from Birthday Bash. I used the Mojo Monday #155 sketch for my layout:

I added more distressing and stitching around and spritzed it all with Iridescent Pearl Glimmer Mist. Here's a detail shot:

Sparkle Creations September Release Day!

Hello! Today is the day that the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps September images are available for purchase in the store! Today we are showing you the third and final image, Farming Oliver!

I paired this sweet little farmer image with some wood grain (Wanted by Cosmo Cricket) and plaid paper (Farm Fresh by October Afternoon). I colored him with Copic markers, added some grass, sponged the background sky and added some Antique Linen to the edges of my image panel. It is getting close to harvest time for my BIL and SIL, and despite the nearly non-stop rain they got hit with this summer, I am hoping that they have an abundant harvest this year! I thought the tall image would fit nicely on a long card (which I don't make that often). Since this had a masculine feel to it, I finished it off with some natural twill and brown twine. I used Mercy's sketch from last week for my layout (MTSC89). My sentiment reads Harvest Blessings (from Verve's Harvest Blessings).

All 3 images that we have peeked this week are now available in the store!

Be sure to visit the rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Farming Oliver. Sparkle will be giving away a Farming Oliver to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Oliver post. Sparkle Creations September Sneak Peek - Day 2

Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks of the September Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps release! Sparkle is releasing 3 new images at midnight EST this Saturday, September 11.. Today the team is showing Broomstick Lucy!

Say hello to Broomstick Lucy.. I am thinking that she's a nice witch! I colored her with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress. I tried to keep my layout fairly simple again, though I added a few more layers than I did yesterday.. :-) I wanted to add a line of tiny black pearls under my "Happy Haunting" sentiment to make it pop out a little more, but alas, I only had white. I colored my pearls with a black Copic marker, then I didn't wait long enough for it to dry. So, I smudged my card base and sentiment (cut out of Labels Fourteen Nestabilities) and had to start over. Needless to say, I left off the pearls and was just happy that I didn't ruin my image! I used an old Mojo sketch for inspiration (mojo144).

Be sure to visit the rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Broomstick Lucy. Sparkle will be giving away a Broomstick Lucy to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the  designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Lucy post. You have until midnight EST each day to comment. The lucky winner will be announced the following day!

Sparkle Creations September Sneak Peek - Day 1

Post 2/2: If you are looking for my final My Time Made Easy project, please scroll down!

Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks of the September Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps release! Sparkle is releasing 3 new images at midnight EST this Saturday, September 11.. Today the team is showing Fall Charlotte!

This is my attempt at a Clean and Simple (CAS) card. DH always tells me that I put too much on my cards... I guess I won't be asking his opinion anymore.. LOL, just kidding! While I do love layers, sometimes I think less is more. I colored this sweet image of Charlotte with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I love using these 2 coloring mediums together, but I always get a headache when I use odorless mineral spirits (to blend my colored pencils). This time I used Goo Gone. I don't think it blends as well as OMS, but at least I didn't feel ill after coloring my image!

MTME Final September Group Post

Post 1/2: If you are looking for my Sparkle Creations Sneak Peek Day 1 post, please scroll up!

Hello! Have you checked out all of the My Time Made Easy © September releases? For the past week and a half, the team has been showing off some wonderful projects to give you some creative inspiration. Today, our entire team is showing our final release projects! My final project is a card that I made using the Homemade Card and Envelope cut file.

I printed some paper from Sara's Construction Materials collection for my roof and the lollipop paper is from her Sweet and Sour Sweetheart's Paper Bag collection. The roof card slips out of the envelope and the ensemble looks like this:

To decorate my envelope, I used Shoppe Window to stamp and cut out the window. I stamped a second awning, colored it with Copic markers and popped it on top of the window for some added dimension. I also added some embossing on the Brandenburg (pink) layer with my Candy Cane Stripes embossing folder. I added lollipops to the window (from On Display 1), colored them and added tiny pearls to the centers.

For my card, I used Sign It to create a shoppe sign which I added to my roof with foam tape. I embossed Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and added my sentiment, "Hope your day is as sweet as you are!' (also from Sign It). Here's a closer look at the card:

Please be sure to visit the rest of the MTME team today as they are also showing off their final creations for September... you definitely won't want to miss any of it!

~~~~~~~~~~
For my card today, I used a couple of JustRite stamp sets, one released last year (I believe) and one released just this summer.. I used JB-08760 Christmas Treasures for my main image and paired it with "Season's Greetings", which is part of the newly released set of beautiful sentiments, JB-09255 Christmas Nested Sentiments.
I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I cut my image out with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities and lightly sponged around the image while it was still in the die. Finally, I added some Flower Soft (for snow) on the edges of the bird house roof and popped the circle onto an accordion flower medallion. To make the medallion, I cut a sheet of patterned paper 1.5" x 12", scored every 1/4", folded like an accordion and brought the edges together to form a circular flower. Detail shot:
