Hello! I hope you are all having a great weekend! Happy Halloween! Today I have a quick card to show you.. nope, not a Halloween, Fall or Christmas card, but rather a birthday card!
I started with some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy (Tickled Pink) collection.. I was so excited to see them making papers in the 6x6 size now.. perfect for cards! The cupcakes and sentiment are from Verve's Birthday Bash set. I colored them with Copic markers and added a little star rhinestone to the center candle. I've recently discovered Pizzazz Aplenty and have been getting all of my flat back pearls and rhinestones from Judy (she has lots of other goodies to add pizzazz to your projects!). If you aren't familiar with her site, I encourage you to visit her HERE.
I finished my card off with a felt rolled rose (using the MFT Rolled Rose Die-namics - currently out of stock, I believe, but here's a link to all the MFT Die-namics) and some stitching. Here's a detail shot:
I used Jen's latest Sketch For You To Try for my layout.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Friday Challenge 042
Hello! It's time for JustRite Friday Challenge 042! This week is a sketch challenge sponsored by Inchie Arts. Inchie Arts offers three different sizes of the highest quality artist grade matteboard squares: 1” (Inchie), 1-1/2” (Inchie +) and 2” (Twinchie). All of their products are fade resistant, acid free, lignin free and solid core color through and through. The material is designed to receive whatever art medium (wet or dry) you use in your coloring and embellishments - from stamping to watercolors, chalks, inks, pens, markers, stains and more. They are available in black, dark gray, light gray, wheat, dark cream, ivory and white; as individual packages or assortment packs.
This was my first time using Inchie Arts products, and I loved working with them! For my sample today, I stamped the sentiment from CL-02020 Sparky the Snowman - Cling onto a light grey Inchie + and heat embossed it with a platinum embossing powder. I popped this square on top of a dark grey Twinchie after stamping a border from JB-09775 From Our House 2" Square and heat embossing it with clear embossing powder. I attached both layers onto a Spellbinders Lacey Square Nestabilities die cut.
You can see a bit more of the embossing detail here. I also added some stitching and shiny silver pearls to finish off my card.
Be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for more details on this week's challenge and to see more inspiration with Inchie Arts!
Here's a look at the sets that I used today. The sentiment was from Sparky the Snowman:
and the border is the first one below (using the Original ribbed set, From Our House):

Create For Fun Inaugural Challenge
Hello! I have a Christmas card to show you today.. My sweet friend, Mona, started a new color challenge which she is calling Create For Fun (CR84FN)! I just couldn't pass up these beautiful colors! For more details on this inaugural challenge, please check her blog here.
I used more paper from The Girl's Paperie, Tinsel & Twig collection. My stamps are from Waltzingmouse Bountiful Baskets Additions. I stamped and colored the basket once and the poinsettias twice. I cut one set out and popped them on top of the others with some foam tape. I added shiny gold pearls to the center of each poinsettia. I combined Mona's challenge with Mercy's fabulous Tuesday Sketch #97 (below). I went a little crazy with the distressing (at least for me).
I will be back later today with the winners from my blog candy posts (here and here)!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Bountiful Basket Additions (Waltzingmouse)
Paper: Tinsel & Twig (The Girl's Paperie), Kraft, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink); Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah)

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 8
Edited to include direct links.
Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops 8! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! And don’t forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets -- you can find them HERE. This week, the designers joining the JustRite design team are the Flower Soft and The Shabby Tea Room challenge blog design teams! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!
Today I have a 12" x 12" scrapbook page to show you. I've been wanting to scrapbook this photo of Sabrina from last Christmas, so this was a perfect opportunity to do so! She had just finished watching the Polar Express movie and wanted me to take some photos of her under the tree, so she started posing for me. I was happy to oblige.. : ) I used JB-09255 Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse for my title, "I Believe" (detail shot below).
I pulled out some coordinating products from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection as the colors matched her Snoopy pjs just perfectly! I stamped the sentiment (from the same set) onto a journaling card and covered it with the matching acetate piece. I used my Copic R83 sketch marker to add some color to some white seam binding ribbon and added pink rhinestones around the layout.
Please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!

Think Pink and More Candy
Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It's the start of a new week, and today I have a card for the final October Viva La Verve challenge.. I was happy to be able to play in all four challenges this month.. a first for me in quite awhile!
The challenge was to use the sketch (see below) and to use whatever inpires us this fall / Halloween season. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I decided to pull out the Verve set, Believe. $10 from the sale of every set to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. I pulled out my Think Pink specialty papers from Making Memories. Instead of an image, I simply used the sentiment, "You Give Me Strength". I stamped 3 of the flowers from the same set onto one of the solid pink papers from the collection, cut them out and popped the layers on top of each other. Finally, I added some stitching and some frosted pink pearls from Pizazz Aplenty.
I have a brand new Believe set which I am also offering up as Blog Candy for my belated 2-year Blogoversary. If you would like the chance to win this lovely set, please leave a comment on this post. I will draw a random winner on Thursday, 10/28, when I draw winners from my post below as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Believe (Verve)
Paper: Think Pink (Making Memories), Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Standard Rectangle and Big Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Pearls (Pizazz Aplenty), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Li'l Pumpkin and Some Candy
Hello! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I've been cleaning and reorganizing my craft room yet again. I was overdue! As I was cleaning, I came across this Pure Innocence Li'l Pumpkin and decided to take a break and make a card with her.
My card is fairly simple.. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #90 for my layout. I colored her with Copic markers and paired her with some Echo Park Happy Halloween paper.
I am also well overdue for blog candy! My 2 year blogoversary was last month, and somehow it came and went. I do have a couple of Papertrey Ink Round & Round anniversary stamp sets available. If you are interested, please leave a comment on this post. I will draw 2 random winners on Thursday, 10/28!

Happy Fall Y'all!
Hello! Happy Weekend and Happy Fall Y'all! It's finally beginning to feel a little like fall around here! It's been a little rainy and overcast (though it's supposed to be sunny and 80 this weekend).. I had a little "me" time today (aka stamping time), so I decided to play with some of my goodies from Taylored Expressions.
It's been way too long since I've played with dear sweet Cuppie.. : ) So, I pulled out the newest Cuppie set, Gobble Gobble. I chose the sweet little artist cuppie who is putting the finishing touches on his latest drawing. I stamped and colored him with Copic markers and also did a little paper piecing. All of my papers, buttons and ribbon are from the October Key Ingredients. I just love getting this little package every month. It takes the guess work out of what to use as it is full of coordinating products!
I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Viva La Verve.. CASE Jackie!
Hello! I found some time to play along in Viva La Verve October week 3. The challenge, in honor of Verve Diva, Jackie's recent induction into the SCS Dirty Dozen, is to CASE one of her creations! I adore Jackie's style, so it was tough to choose just one, but in the end, I chose this one.
My sentiment is from Verve's Big Wish. I used some patterned paper from October Afternoon and PTI, Kraft cardstock and ruffled some ribbon. I added some ink distressing and my pearls are from Pizazz Aplenty.
A little while ago, Jackie also shared that she is the "Sunshine Mom" at her daughter's school. She makes birthday cards for the PTA to give to the teachers. I thought that was really such a great way to volunteer at school by doing what I love (stamping!).. So, I pitched the idea to the PTA President at Sabrina's school, and she loved it! This is the first card I'll be contributing. So, Congrats, Jackie on being named to the "Dirt Pile" and thanks for all of the fabulous inspiration!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Big Wish (Verve)
Paper: Farm Fresh, Seaside (October Afternoon), 2008 Bitty Dot Basics, Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko), Vintage Photo distress (Ranger)
Accessories: Classic Oval and Scalloped Classic Oval Nestabilities, Star Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Medium Scalloped Border die, Button (Papertrey Ink), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Provo Craft), Twine (May Arts), Red twill, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

PDCC One Year Anniversary!!
Hello! Today we are celebrating the One Year Anniversary of the Play Date Cafe Challenge with PDCC52! Julie invited a few PDCC alumni to come back and play along, and of course I said yes! She chose a beautiful pastel palette (see above), which is open to your interpretation. I used light yellow, pale peach, light pink and white.
This special challenge is sponsored by Unity Stamps and Cosmo Cricket. In addition, the Unity DT will be playing along. Each day of this week's challenge until the challenge deadline (next Tuesday at midnight EST), the PDCC blog will spotlight some creations by the Unity design team. You won't want to miss any of it!
With all the fall and Christmas cards that I have been making, this was a refreshing color combination for me to work with! I used one of the newest Verve sets, Many Blessings. I stamped the smallest flower 3 times, then I added the sentiment on the same panel. I pieced the flowers with the same Bitty Dot patterned paper, added the same colored pearl to the center and added some light green to the leaves. For my layout I used one of Mercy's sketches from a few weeks ago, MTSC94.
Be sure to visit the Play Date Cafe blog for more details on this anniversary challenge and to see all the designers' creations!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 7
Edited to include direct links.
Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops 7! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! You also might see some projects from the JustRite design team, using some of their newly released line of CLING stamps! You can find our new collection of cling stamps HERE. This week, the designers joining us are most of the Spellbinders and Caardvarks design teams! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!
Today's project uses stamps from the newly release JustRite Cling line. The image and sentiment are from CL-02025 Sparky and Friends. My first card was quite a bit more elaborate than this one, and my DH hated it, so he kept having me re-work it. Finally, it ended up in the trash and I started over. This is much simpler than most of my designs, but like he's always telling me.. some times less is more. Everytime I would try to include a scallop, he would say, "no scallops". Besides a strip of ribbon and some stitching, my only embellishments are the frosted red pearls along the left side.
I added some fine glitter along the hat and jacket trimmings and Flower Soft Polar White around for some snow. Here's a detail shot of the image (while I was coloring this, my DD, Sabrina, pointed out to me that this was a photo of "Mommy, Daddy and Sabrina"..), so this is apparently also our family photo!
Please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!
Here's a look at the entire Sparky and Friends cling set:
And, finally, a look at the storage (these are 8.5" x 5.5" panels that fit inside mini binder boxes).
Thanks for hopping by!

SCRS Challenge #15 - Anything Winter
Hello! It's time another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Thanks to all of you who played along last week! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is to create anything winter inspired! Whether it is Christmas, snow, mugs of hot apple cider or something else, we hope that you will join us this week! In order to be eligible to win a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your project.
I finally had a chance to play with Christmas Tree Ruby! Once I stamped and colored her, I decided to ditch the sketch that I had originally planned on using and let her be my entire front panel. I added some gold Stickles to the star atop the tree and shiny gold pearls along my scallop border. The entire panel is popped up with foam tape.
For more inspiration, please visit the SCRS blog to see the design team's wonderful creations or their individual blogs: Kim, Laurel, Lisa, Simonne, Sparkle and Piali, our wonderful October guest designer!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies ~
Stamps: Christmas Tree Ruby (Sparkle Creations), Sentiment from O Christmas Tree (Verve)
Paper: Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah), Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado (Papertrey Ink)

Accessories: Scallop Diamond border punch (EK Success), Markers (Copic), 3mm shiny gold pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty), Gold stickles (Ranger), Ribbon, Bow Easy, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Mojo Sympathy
Hello friends.. I am back with a card using Julee's latest Mojo Monday #160. It is with a heavy heart that I sat down to make this sympathy card and finally to write up this post. A friend of mine just tragically lost her 5-year-old son, and this is the card that I made for her. I am deeply saddened for the family's loss. They are all in our thoughts and prayers.
I pulled out an older Papertrey Ink set that I had not inked up yet, With Sympathy. I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with a Spellbinders Long Rectangle Nestability die, then I added some light sponging while it was still in the die. The small partial frame on the left side is cut out of Simply Chartreuse felt with the Mat Stack 4 die. I added some silk ribbon, stitching and ivory pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.
Here's a detail shot of the sentiment:
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and make sure to give your loved ones some extra hugs.. I know that I will.
Supplies ~
Stamps: With Sympathy (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Hollywood Vogue (Websters Pages), Rustic White (Papertrey Ink)

Viva La Verve.. Happy Fall
Hello! Happy weekend everyone! Today I have another card for one of Amber's Viva La Verve challenges! This one is for the second October challenge -- details here. I used more from the new Verve Autumn release on this one!
In addition to the sketch, we were to use the colors Brown, Orange, Turquoise and White. I started with some patterned papers from Crate Paper School Spirit. I embossed the Every Season Plain Jane stamp with Chocolate Brown embossing powder. The Dickens quote reads, "Nature gives to every season a beauty all its own". The sketch has a sentiment panel over the larger circle. Since I used a quote instead of an image, I was going to replace the sentiment panel with an embellishment, then I thought how wonderful this quote would be to create a card for each of the seasons. "Happy Fall" is from the same named set, Happy Fall, and the leaf is one of many lovely ones in Autumn Splendor.
Here's the sketch inspiration:

JustRite Friday Challenge 040
Hello! It's time for JustRite Friday Challenge 040! This week is a Fall Color Challenge sponsored by Flower Soft. This week on the JustRite blog, a new line JustRite Cling stamps have been introduced! These are deeply etched rubber stamps (made in the US!) that can be attached to any acrylic block. The line of Cling stamps joins the already extensive line of JustRite stamps which feature interchangeable borders and centers (to be referred to as JustRite Original stamps).
In order to show you the versatility of the new line, my project for today uses both JustRite Cling and JustRite Original stamps. I chose this sweet farm image from a new Cling set, A Day in the Country as it reminded me of our recent trip to visit family in MN. They don't have a big red barn, but rather they have a few sheds and my BIL has a really cool "shop". They do have a few silos and theirs are are grey, so I colored this one grey. We've always visited in the summer, but this time we were able to enjoy a little cooler fall weather. I colored the bushes a green color, then I added some Flower Soft Ultra Fine Sage for the green portion and some Autumn to show the leaves starting to change colors. There are some great sentiments in the new cling set, however I wanted to show you that you can use both the Cling and the Original sets together. My sentiment is from Autumn Blessings.
I added a little distress ink to the edges of my oval to tone down the white cardstock that I used. Here's a detail shot of my image:
Here's a peek at the rest of A Day in the Country:
For my sentiment, I inked up only the sentiment portion (minus the leaves) of a center from Autumn Blessings:
Be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for more details on this week's challenge and to see more inspiration with Flower Soft!

Viva La Verve.. Hello Pumpkin
Hello! Today I had a chance to make a card for one of Amber's Viva La Verve challenges! Woohoo! It's been forever since I've been able to play along... This one is for the first October challenge -- details here. I had some happy mail this week.. new Verve stamps, so it was the perfect opportunity for me!
I used the newly release Verve set, Bountiful Harvest. Julee has created some fun, whimsical pumpkins in this set and I just love them! There is a pumpkin trio as well as individuals of the pumpkins so you can paper piece, stamp them individually, etc. -- so many possibilities! I chose to use one of the pumpkin images and did a little masking so that I could stack them up. I colored them to go with Basic Grey Pyrus papers. I added some stitching and topaz rhinestones from Pizazz Aplenty.
Here's a look at the sketch and inspiration photo that I used:

"Happy Holidays" is from JB-09255 Christmas Nested Sentiments. I added a little Flower Soft Polar White for snow above his hat and around his body.
