SCRS Challenge #21 -- Friends Inspiration

Hello! It's time another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Thanks to all of you who played along last week! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is to a photo inspiration challenge. Friends is still my favorite show, so today the inspiration photo is from their second home, Central Perk.

I always loved Rachel on the show.. she started off as a spoiled brat living off of her parents and ended the show as a successful business executive. I used Cafe Lucy (sorry, it looks like she's sold out now) and paired her with some Basic Grey Wander paper that I reminded me of all the tall buildings in New York City. I used Mercy's sketch from last week, MTSC101.

For more inspiration, please visit the SCRS blog to see the design team's wonderful creations and their individual blogs for more details: Kim, Laurel, Lisa, Simonne, Sparkle and Mercy. This is Mercy's final challenge as our Guest Designer.. thanks SO much for joining us this month and sharing your fabulous talent, Mercy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Cafe Lucy (Sparkle Creations)
Paper: Wander (Basic Grey), Dark Chocolate, Kraft (Papertrey Ink), Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamagic Wheat (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Standard Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Markers (Copic), Rhinestone flourish, Pearls (Basic Grey), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Wishing You Peace & Love

Good morning! I hope all of my U.S. friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of yummy food, good friends and family time! Ours was nice and quiet! I am not much of a Black Friday shopper, so this year I stayed at home and shopped a little on the internet in my pjs.. gotta love that!

I made this card awhile back and never got around to blogging it. It has a couple of layers, but nothing too excessive, so it should make for easy mailing. I used a sentiment from JB-09255 Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse, cut it out with a Spellbinders Labels Fourteen die and added some sponging to the edges. I finished it off with some stitching and a few red frosted pearls from Pizzazz Apenty.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies~
JustRite Stampers: JB-09255 Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse, JB-09520 Clear Horizontal Stamper
Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Labels Fourteen Nestabilities

Ink: Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamagic Wheat

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 12

Edited to add direct links.

Welcome to the final week of JustRite Stampers’  Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops!  JustRite has been showcasing their entire Christmas Collection of stamps during the hops and ALL of those JustRite Original stamps are currently on sale at 25% off now through November 29, with free shipping within the U.S. on consumer orders over $50!  You can view all of those Holiday Sale stamp sets HERE.

If you would like to go back through all of the hops and see all of the gorgeous Christmas inspiration from the past 11 weeks, you can do so by clicking on the 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops category on the JustRite Inspiration blog.  All of the designers’ projects are hyperlinked directly to their blog posts that have full details of how they created the project, so you won’t have to search for them!

Don’t forget that JustRite also has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets, too -- you can find all of their cling stamp sets HERE.  This week, the designers joining the JustRite design team are the 2 Sketches 4 You designers!  JustRite is sponsoring this week’s 2S4Y #66 sketch challenge.  You can find the fabulous sketch inspiration AND details about the JustRite prize package, by visiting their blog post HERE.

Today my project isn't Christmas related, but it is gift giving related and the supplies could certainly be swapped out to make a Christmas gift. I made a few batches of Pumpkin Pie Bars to give to Sabrina's teachers and para aides at school for Thanksgiving. I wrapped them up and will put them in Kraft coffee bags, so I made some tags to attach to the outside. I didn't add any twine to the tags since I am going to wrap the twine around the bags, then add the label (you can see how I did one later in this post).

I used a border from JB-08695 What's Cookin' Borders & Centers. I stamped, colored and cut out the small pumpkin from CL-02000 Hangin' Around - Cling and popped it up with a foam dimensional. I added some stitching and a couple of topaz rhinestones from Pizzazz Aplenty. A detail shot:

Since I stitched on the tag, I added another Labels Fourteen to the back (to hide the stitching and tape) and stamped the To: From: center from JB-09775 From Our House 2" Square. Here's a look at the back (please ignore the ugly backside of the eyelet):

For my tags, I started with a Spellbinders Labels Fourteen base (the lined paper). I then cut out the orange gingham paper with part of a Labels Thirteen (see below), trimmed it and added it to the center of the tag with stitching.

I didn't get a chance to photograph the final gifts as I am typing up this post on Tuesday night and am baking a third batch of bars right now (and running back and forth to the kitchen when the timer goes off to check on them.. :)), so I haven't packaged them all up yet. I did package up one bag for Sabrina's speech therapist on Monday and took a quick photo before I gave it to her.. the tag is the same minus the rhinestones.

As a child, I would look forward to having pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving. It wasn't that I loved it, but I would crave it about once a year.. and we usually would have it since my Dad likes it. Now that we have Thanksgiving with just our small family (Dan, Sabrina and me), I don't buy or make pumpkin pie since I would be the only person eating it. I have no desire to waste food.. nor do I intend to eat an entire pie myself.. LOL! I was happy to find these bars will satisfy my craving this year! I also forgot to take a photo of the actual pumpkin pie bars, so I am borrowing the one from the site where I got the recipe (Annie's Eats -- click on link for recipe). I followed the recipe as is, except I omited the pecans. Thanks for the great recipe, Annie!

SCRS Challenge #20 and Black Friday Sale

Hello! It's time another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Thanks to all of you who played along last week! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is to use Kraft cardstock and/or other Kraft goodies on your creation.

I paired Street Corner Josh with some Kraft cardstock and Kraft patterned paper by Jillibean Soup. I colored him with Copic markers, cut out the image with a Spellbinders Long Rectangle Nestabilities die, and promptly dropped an open ink pad on top of it... argh! However, I managed to salvage my image (minus the steam from his coffee) and cut him out and put him on top a new (clean) background. The sentiment reads "Good things are worth the wait" and is from Verve's Big Wish. I used Mojo Monday 166 for my layout.

For more inspiration, please visit the SCRS blog to see the design team's wonderful creations and their individual blogs for more details: Kim, Laurel, Lisa (on vacation), Simonne (running a bit late), Sparkle and Mercy, our wonderful November guest designer!

ENABLER ALERT!!
Are you a Black Friday shopper? How about being able to shop at home in your pjs? Sparkle is having a HUGE sale.. All stamps in the store will be $5, which is almost 40% off! The sale will run on Black Friday from midnight to 6pm EST (9pm Thursday through 3pm Friday PST).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Street Corner Josh (Sparkle Creations), Big Wish (Verve)

Mojo Peace on Earth

Hello! I hope you're all having a great weekend!

I had a chance to play with Julee's latest Mojo Monday #165 (sketch below), which has a fun tilted panel! I don't know about you, but I am normally a right angle crafter, but I had a lot of fun with this sketch. I used some Pink Paislee Father Christmas papers.. love the traditional Christmas colors in this vintage collection! On the green panel, I clear embossed the berry sprigs from Verve's Merry Wishes (I managed to cover most of it, but you can see a little detail). The sentiment is from Glad Tidings.

Are you good at using up your scraps? I have to admit that I am not so much.. So, while typing up my post and proof reading it, I decided to use my scraps and make version 2.. I just switched the patterned paper on my panels. I think I like version 2 better than the first one.. plus, you can see a bit more of the embossing detail on the green panel!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Glad Tidings, Merry Wishes (Verve)
Paper: Father Christmas (Pink Paislee), Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah), Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark Watermark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Standard Circles and Standard Scalloped Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Upper Crest border punch (Fiskars), Clear embossing powder, Satin ribbon, Rose, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Hello! Happy weekend before Thanksgiving! I'm going to keep this post short and sweet..

I had to make another card with these sweet mittens from Verve's Winter Mittens set. I paper pieced them with some Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather paper and added some Martha Stewart silver tinsel glitter to the cuffs. I took a mini clothespin and sprayed it with some Silver Sugar Glimmer Mist to give it an aged (and sparkly in real life) look. I added stitching all around and a few shiny silver pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I used Mercy's 100th sketch for my layout (woohoo Mercy.. love your sketches and hope you keep 'em coming!) and Mona's beautiful color inspiration (purple, light purple and gray) for her CR84FN4 challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~

Elf Oliver

Hello! Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is sponsoring Card Patterns this week, so I thought I'd play along! For more details and to see some sketch inspiration by their designers, please check out the Card Patterns blog.

I used Elf Oliver on my card today. I colored him with Copic markers and added some shimmer to the edges of his hat and Santa suit with my clear Spica glitter pen (I wasn't able to pick up any of that in my photo, but it does sparkle in real life.. :)). The tatted snowflake was made by my cousin, Jessica. I've been hoarding this forever and finally decided to add it to a card. If you'd like to see more of her creations, please visit her Etsy shop!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Friday Challenge 045 -- Celebrate Good Times

Hello! It's time for another JustRite Friday Challenge! This week's challenge (JRC_045) is called Celebrate Good Times.. make a Wedding, Holiday or any other Celebration project. Our generous sponsor this week is Flower Soft. Have you tried the Flower Soft Silver and Gold? I used both on my project today, and I love the texture and sparkle they add!

I made an 8" x 8" scrapbook page using an engagement photo of my sweet niece and her fiance (now her husband!) and framed it. Her wedding colors were black and white, so that was my starting point. I created my background paper by randomly stamping the cherry blossom image from JB-09705 My Garden Borders & Centers. I added a little bit of ink distressing to the edges of my cardstock and stitched it onto a black mat.

I cut some open circles out of black glitter paper using my Spellbinders Standard Circle Nestabilities. I also cut the photo out of a circle and matted it onto a larger white circle and stitched around part of the photo. Once I added all of my elements to the page, I went back and added Silver Flower Soft to the center of the all the exposed flowers. I then went back and some Gold Flower Soft to a just a few of the flower centers. Here's a closer look at the top part:

Below is a close-up of the lower part of the layout. I used some silver ribbon, tied a bow and added a couple of stick pins through the knot. I stamped the frame (that fits Labels Fourteen Nestabilities perfectly) from CL-02055 In the Moonlight-Cling. The sentiment, "Always & Forever" is from JB-09235 Weddings Nested Sentiments & Verse. Finally, I added a little ink and some Swarovski crystals around the sentiment frame.

Be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for more details on this week's challenge and to see more inspiration from some of my fellow design team members.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expression November Blast from Past Hop!

Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Taylored Expressions November Blast from the Past Blog Hop! Each month, Taylor invites her customers to participate in this fun hop and feature Taylored Expressions Stamps! The theme for our November hop is Autumn/Thankful. If you happened here by chance, please check the full list of participants at the bottom of this post!

Before I started, I selected this sweet image of Cuppie from A Year of Sweets 3. Next, I pulled out my October Key Ingredients since it has everything that I needed to create an autumn card. I colored Cuppie with Copic markers. I stamped an extra image, colored a couple of the pumpkins, cut them out and popped them up with foam tape. My sentiment is from Garden Party Critters. I stamped "Thinking of You", cut it out with Spellbinders Nested Pumpkins and sponged some Wild Honey Distress ink onto it while it was still in the die.

Here's a detail shot:

For my layout, I used the fabulous (yet optional) sketch by Sankari (below). I tried a few different patterned papers on my background, but I thought they looked too busy, so first I scored a few vertical lines, then as I was putting my card together, I decided to stitch over the score lines.

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: A Year of Sweets 3, Sentiment from Garden Party Critters (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: all cardstock from Taylored Expressions October Key Ingredients
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Wild Honey Distress (Ranger)
Accessories: Nested Pumpkins (Spellbinders), Round-it-All (Zutter), Markers (Copic), Ribbon (Taylored Expressions October Key Ingredients), Frosted pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

I used Cupcake Ruby for my creation today. I colored her with Copic markers and cut only a portion of her with a Spellbinders circle. I used Mercy's sketch from last week, MTSC99. Viva la Verve Autumn Mosaic

Hello! I hope you are having a great weekend! I am back with my Viva la Verve card using the week 1 November sketch (details here).

I created the background paper by stamping one of the leaves from Verve's Autumn Splendor randomly on a sheet of cardstock. It's such a fun set full of many leaf options - you can color them, paper piece or even stamp solid leaves. I opted to color mine in various fall colors. When it came time to adding the panel on top of my leaves, I didn't want to cover it all up, so I found myself using a piece of vellum again as I did on my card yesterday. The quote is from the same set. I added some scored lines and a few topaz rhinestones near the corner.

Here's a look at Amber's sketch and the inspiration photo I used:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Autumn Splendor (Verve)
Paper: Terracotta Tile, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko), Vintage Photo distress (Ranger)
Accessories: Labels Fourteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Markers (Copic), Ribbon (May Arts), Scor-Buddy, Rhinestones (Pizzazz Aplenty), Sparkler (Webster's Pages), Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Joy to the World

If you are looking for my Sparkle Creations Sneak Peek/Release post, please click here or scroll down.. Thanks!

Hello! I hope you're having a great weekend so far! I have a pink and green Christmas card today! I used some patterned papers from K & Company (Secret Santa) and digi papers (pink dotted) from Zoe Pearn's Happy Holidays. I didn't want to completely cover up the patterns so I layered a piece of light green vellum over them to soften up the card and still allow you to see the patterns. "Joy" is stamped on to the Verve Vintage Oval Frame stamp which I cut out with the Vintage Oval Die. The sentiments are from Merry Wishes.

My color inspiration is from Mona's latest CR84FN3 and my layout is Mojo Monday #164.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Merry Wishes, Vintage Oval Frame (Verve)
Paper: Secret Santa (K & Company), Happy Holidays digi by Zoe Pearn (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Green vellum (CTMH), New Leaf (Papertrey Ink), Classic Crest Solar White (Neenah)

Accessories: Vintage Oval Frame Die (Verve), Double Ended Tags (Spellbinders), Round-it-All (Zutter), Wrinkled ribbon (May Arts), Pearls (Prima), Bow Easy, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

Sparkle Creations November Release - Cafe Lucy and SFYTT

Hello and Welcome to the final day of sneak peeks and the November release for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! Sparkle is releasing 2 new images -- they are available in the store now.. Today we are previewing Cafe Lucy! She is also sponsoring the Sketch For You To Try this week, so we were given this fabulous sketch by Jen del Muro to work with!

I took one look at the sketch (see below) and envisioned it as a tall and narrow card, so this is my interpretation. I used the out of the box technique with my Nestabilities so I wouldn't chop off Lucy's foot or the steam from her coffee. I colored her with Copic markers and pieced her blouse. I just love how much she looks like she is enjoying her coffee!

Be sure to visit all the SCRS designers for more peeks of Cafe Lucy. Sparkle will be giving away a Cafe Lucy to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Lucy post. You have until midnight EST to comment. The lucky winner will be announced tomorrow!

JustRite Friday Challenge 044

If you are looking for my Sparkle Creations Sneak Peek, please click here or scroll down.. Thanks!

Hello! It's time for another JustRite Friday Challenge! This week's challenge (JRC_044) is a color challenge sponsored by Spellbinders! The colors are Navy, Gold and Rust. When I first saw the colors, I had every intention of making a masculine card, but I ended up frilling it up a bit (as I have a tendency to do). I do still think this card can be given to a man.. :)

I started by stamping a circular fleur de lis border from JB-08340 Deluxe Monogram Kit. I clear embossed this for a subtle look. The sentiment, Just For You, is from JB-09225 Birthday Centers Round which I stamped with Tsukineko Memento Paris Dusk. Each circular layer was cut using Spellinders Standard Circle Nestabilities - Large. The largest circle was cut using Spellbinders Lacey Circle Nestabilities. I added this on top of a trio of the 3 inspiration colors which I stitched together. Finally I added some ribbon, tied a bow and added a Webster's Pages sparkler to the center.

Be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for more details on this week's challenge and to see more inspiration from some of my fellow design team members.

Here's a complete look at the sets I used today. First is the Deluxe Round Monogram Kit:

and next is Birthday Centers Round 1 5/8":

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Paper: Papertrey Ink Enchanted Evening, Harvest Gold, Terracotta Tile, Vintage Cream cardstock
Ink: Tsukineko Memento Paris Dusk, Versamark Watermark, Ranger Vintage Photo distress
Accessories: Webster's Pages Sparkler button, Clear embossing powder, Gold satin ribbon, Foam tape, Sewing machine and ivory thread.

It's Your Birthday (TESC133)

Hello! I have 11 birthday cards to make for the teachers and staff at Sabrina's school (between now and the end of December), so I figured I better get going on them... :) I thought this image of Cuppie would make a fun card, and it fit nicely on this layout using the latest Taylored Expressions sketch #133.

I stamped and colored Cuppie (from Sweet Celebration), then I added some Starfire glitter to the polka dots on her hat (it's super sparkly in real life!). The sentiment is from the same set. For the embellishments along the right side of the sketch, I adhered some 12 mm rhinestone stars in various colors.

Here's a look at Taylor's fun sketch:

Edited to add direct links below.

Welcome to the 10th week of JustRite Stampers’ Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops!  Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving we have been showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  Don’t forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets, too -- you can find them HERE.

For the month of November we thought we would also throw in some holiday gift ideas for any of your JustRite stamps so be watching for those, too, on November’s hops!  And in celebration of JustRite’s 10th week of Christmas Blog Hops, they have a huge surprise for you -- take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stamps now through November 29 with free shipping within the U.S. on orders over $50 -- Don't forget to tell Santa!

Today I have a simple little wall hanging (or it could even be hung on a Christmas tree) that I made using some inexpensive wooden snowflakes that I picked up at Michael's last year (I think they were less than $1 each). To spell out the word, JOY, I used JB-08095 Myriad Pro - 95 point Upper & Lowercase Font Set. I used the lowercase letters since they fit the best inside each snowflake. The final snowflake is a photo of my DD, Sabrina, wearing her Santa hat. I sprayed each snowflake with some Glimmer Mist, let dry and added some Swarovski crystals around. I punched holes with my Cropadile and attached each snowflake with some twine. I added a couple of jingle bells to the last snowflake.

Each letter is embossed with fine black embossing powder. Here's a look at each snowflake:

Here's a look at the plain wooden snowflake that I started with:
