SCRS Challenge #28 -- Hi There!

Hello! I'm settling back into my routine after a fun trip to CA for the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Conference & Trade Show. It was my first time attending, and I had a lot of fun walking the floor, looking at all the new products and meeting people that I only knew from online.. LOL! I went with my sweet friend Mona, and I had a great time spending a girl's weekend away with her.. :) I even had the chance to meet some of my past and present SCRS teammates -- Sparkle, Kim, Shaela, and Lisa!

Speaking of SCRS, it's time for an all new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is "It's a Girl Thing" (create anything girly girl).

This is our first SCRS challenge for the month, so we have a new Guest Designer... please welcome the uber-talented, Amber Hight! I love Amber's design work and amazing color skills, so I am thrilled she could join us this month!

This is also the first official start for our new DT members, Alice and Shaela! We are so excited to have them join our team .. you can see their creations as well as the rest of the team's on the SCRS blog and on their individual blogs (links below my project).

I used Cafe Lucy on my card today and paired her with some yummy paper from Imaginisce Garden Party (love the pink and greens in this!).. My sentiment is from Verve's Wordy Birds. I kept my embellishments to a minimum, but I did add some yummy Simply Sage Baker's Luster Twine from Pizzazz Aplenty.. it has a lovely sheen to it and is still thin enough to thread through buttons.. LOVE that!

For more SCRS inspiration and details, please visit the SCRS blog to see the design team's wonderful creations and their individual blogs for more details:

Mojo Happy Birthday Papa!

Hello! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch (#176).. this week the sketch is super flexible.. round or square! Today is my Dad's birthday (Happy Birthday, Dad!), and this is the card we sent to him from Sabrina!

I chose a couple of bright and fun patterns from the Echo Park - Little Boy collection. On the green polka dot paper, I clear embossed stars all over from Verve's Polka Stars. I stamped "Happy Birthday" (from Happy Thoughts) and cut it out using Spellbinders Star Nestabilities. I added some stitching and star rhinestones from Pizzazz Aplenty, then I popped it onto my main panel. I thought it would be fun to add buttons all along the wavy part separating the two patterned papers. I tied some Divine Twine through each button. "PAPA" was spelled using stickers from the same Echo Park collection.

Here's this week's fabulous sketch:

I hope you will play along with us this week! Please visit the Mojo Monday blog for all the details and to see the wonderful creations by the Mojo Makers! You can also visit their individual blogs for more details (see my sidebar for links to each).

CR84FN13 -- Anniversary Wishes

Hello! It's time for another CR84FN (Create For Fun) Challenge! Thank you to all who joined us last week.. it was fun viewing all of your fabulous creations! For this week's challenge (CR84FN13), the colors are Red, Turquoise and Brown.

These colors really threw me for a loop! I searched and searched (and searched) for some patterned paper either to use or to inspire me and almost had given up when I came across a very old Basic Grey Blush paper pad.. I decided to use the small floral print and add some Vintage Photo distress ink all around. I stamped the doodle frame from Verve's Thankful Accents, added some tiny rhinestones onto it and popped the sanded foil heart in the center. "Anniversary Wishes" is from Wishful Elegance.

Here's a details shot of my foil heart and doodle frame:

I Love You to the Moon and Back

Hello! Happy Friday! I had a chance to play along with Verve's Diva Dare challenge today! This month's theme is Baby Love. My girl isn't technically a baby anymore (she'll be 8 this year.. eeek!).. but Sabrina will always be my baby girl... :) Here's a card that I made for her for Valentine's Day..

I used one of the newest releases from Verve, To the Moon. I stamped "You Go Girl!" and the tiny hearts on a sheet of patterned paper from Pink Paislee Sweetness. I stamped the sweet sentiment (also from the same set) and die cut with Spellbinders Labels Five dies. I added some lace, stitching and a few other goodies and called it done!

My card colors were inspired by this little Hello Kitty tin that I got for Sabrina to fill up with some Valentine's goodies.. she loves Hello Kitty, so I hope she likes this!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Viva la Verve -- May All Your Dreams Come True

Hello! I had a chance to play with the final Viva la Verve sketch for January! This is my card for the week 4 challenge (all details here in the Verve Splitcoast forum).

I started by embossing the frame from Framed Wishes in black. I used a Spellbinders Long Rectangle Nestabilities die to cut part of the frame (the die was the height that I wanted to cut my frame, but it was too long), then I slid my frame over and cut the other side of the frame. Next, I die cut a circle out of the frame and embossed the sentiment, "May All Your Dreams Come True" (from Always on Mind) directly onto my black mat, then I popped the frame over it. Finally, I added some stitching, dyed seam binding ribbon and a few black flatback pearls from Pizzazz Apenty.

My layout is based upon Sankari's fabulous sketch:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Stampers -- Introducing Birthday Celebrations

If you are looking for my PTI January Blog Hop post, please scroll down or click here.. Thank you!

Hello! Today, JustRite Stampers is introducing a new ribbed set, JB-09845 3 1/4" Birthday Celebrations - Interlocking. This set is slightly different from our other 3 1/4" round sets as the borders are extra wide.. this new design allows it to be interchangeable with our stamps with 2" centers, such as JB-09835 2" You're So Sweet - Interlocking.

Here is my sample using the new set:

For my main panel, I started with a sheet of pretty paper from Pink Paislee Sweetness and stitched some pink vellum onto it to soften it even more. I also stamped my sentiment onto a scrap of the same patterned paper. I stamped one of the swirly wide borders, cut it out as a frame, and popped it over my sentiment. I added a bit of color to frame by coloring the circle with my BG11 Copic marker and added a lot of ivory pearls all around the swirly frame.

For more details, please visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for the official introduction of this set. Also, here is a complete list of links with projects using Birthday Celebrations that you will not want to miss:

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! I've been wanting to play along in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hops that occur every month, but each time the date comes around, I end up too busy with life and/or other commitments.

After seeing Nichole's challenge (to use an uninked or dusty PTI set), I had hoped to be able to play. Although my morning didn't start off well, I managed to squeeze a little crafting time in this afternoon.. here's what I came up with..

I decided to pull out a few uninked sets.. first, I created some patterned paper (left side) by stamping the text from Background Basics: Hearts with Pure Poppy ink. I added a strip of heart patterned paper next to it (from Simple Valentine). For my circular image / sentiment panel, I embossed the white heart border from 2010 Love Tags. Next, I popped the little Happy Valentine's Day sentiment (from Tiny Treats: Valentine) in the center and stitched all of this onto a Lacey Circle.

I added more stitching around around my panel, tied some ribbon around and added a little yo-yo heart embellishment that I made with some chiffon fabric. I sprayed it with some Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist and added a pearl to the center. Here's a detail shot:

I can't wait to hop around and see all the creations (complete link list is here).. thanks so much for stopping by!

Mojo Where There is Love There is Life

Hello! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch (#175)! I tend to make a lot of vertical cards, so this horizontal sketch was really fun to work with.. I hope you aren't getting tired of Valentine's Day / Love cards.. I usually don't send out a lot of Valentine's cards, but this year, I've really been getting into the hearts and fun lovey dovey products!

I was inspired by the colors (Pink, Grey and Black) in the Echo Park - Be Mine collection. To create my background paper, I alternately stamped the Gandhi quote "Where there is love there is life" (from Verve's Text Objects) in Memento London Fog and the strip of tiny hearts (from Hearts on Fire) in Memento Rose Bud. For my main sentiment panel, I stamped the frame from Love Notes and cut it out with the matching Classy Label die. I then stamped a larger version of the same quote on the label.

I embossed some tiny hearts onto the smaller rectangular panel and punched the Smokey Shadow mat with a Martha Stewart Mini Hearts border punch. Here's a close-up shot as it's often hard to see the details on dark cardstock:

Here's this week's fabulous sketch:

CR84FN12 -- Love You

Hello! It's time for another CR84FN (Create For Fun) Challenge! Thank you to all who joined us last week.. it was fun viewing all of your fabulous creations! For this week's challenge (CR84FN12), Mona has chosen the lovely color palette of Light Pink, Lavender and Kraft. The photos in the graphic above are courtesy of Leslie at A Creative Mint.

I paired some Memory Box Gossamer paper with some stamped patterned paper that I made using Waltzingmouse's Text-It (it is the rectangular panel where the heart is popped up and unfortunately covering most of it :)). I embossed the heart from Seasons of Love - Tags onto some Rustic Cream cardstock, cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Heart Nestabilities and stamped "Love You" in the center.

I started by using SC316 for inspiration, then sort of got off track from the sketch.. :)

For all the challenge details, please be sure to visit the CR84FN blog HERE. I hope you will join us this week.. I can't wait to see what you create! For more inspiration, please visit my fellow design teammates:

JustRite Friday Challenge 047

Hello! It's JustRite Friday Challenge time again! This week's challenge, JRC_047, is "Love is in the Air".. create a project that reflects love (anniversary, wedding, Valentine's Day, etc.). This challenge is sponsored by the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.. You have nearly 2 weeks to play along.. I hope you will join us!

I created an 8.5" x 11" scrapbook page using a few photos that I took at my niece's wedding last September. While the official photographer (my BIL) was taking photos prior to the ceremony, I took candids and tried to stay out of his way.. :) I cropped the bride's parents (my SIL and BIL) out of the first shot as I realized that I didn't have many of just the bride and groom. I love the second photo.. I love that I was able to capture Evie's expression while the groom and his groomsmen (did something funny while they) were being photographed! I am not sure if she plans on scrapbooking her wedding, but I plan to give this layout to her to get her started.. :)

On the left side of my layout, I randomly stamped the lily from the JustRite interlocking set, JB-09260 Mother Nature's Gifts. I added a little color with Copic markers. I added some grey patterned paper from Echo Park Be Mine to the rest of the layout and added some white chiffon and pearl trim (I added the link from Pizzazz Apenty, but I know I bought it all from Judy - there are other colors available at closeout prices, though!) to separate the stamping and patterned paper.

For the title of the layout, I used a sentiment from JB-09235 Wedding Nested Sentiments & Verse and popped it over a frame from JB-09205 Victorian Nested Frames. These were cut out using JustRite Custom dies, JB-08950 Nested Frame Dies (co-branded with Spellbinders). You can also see my crazy stitching that goes around the photos. Evie loves butterflies, so I die cut a Spellbinders Butterflies Two die twice, stenciled, layered and popped them on my layout. Here's a close-up:

Be sure to visit the JustRite Inspiration blog for more details on this week's challenge and some lovely samples by the Stamp Simply Store designers. Also, a few of my JR teammates have challenge projects that you will not want to miss:

Viva la Verve Baby Congrats

Hello! I had a chance to play with last week's Viva la Verve sketch! This is my card for the week 3 challenge (all details here in the Verve Splitcoast forum).

I needed a baby card for sweet friends of ours who are having their first baby, so I pulled out one of the new Verve releases, To the Moon. I stamped the little frame on my tilted panel and popped the little bear onto it. Since they are expecting a girl, I stamped the bow from one of the sweet bunnies in Practically Perfect (this set is currently on sale through 1/31!), colored and cut it out, then I added it to the teddy bear. I added some flatback pink rhinestones (from Pizzazz Aplenty) to the bow, picture hanger and to the top of my card.

My layout is based upon Tosh's fabulous sketch:

Taylored Expressions January Blast from the Past Blog Hop!!

Edit 2 (I promise this is the last one!): I realized that my tag fell off the 2nd time I photographed the layout - final photo uploaded.
Edit: Uploaded a new photo of my scrapbook page since I realized that I cropped the photo of Sabrina to 72 dpi instead of 300 dpi. I printed a new photo, swapped it out and took a new photo of my page.

Hello! I'm excited to be participating in the first Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop of 2011! Each month, Taylor invites her customers to participate in this fun hop and feature Taylored Expressions Stamps! The theme for our January hop is LOVE. If you happened here by chance, please check the full list of participants at the bottom of this post!

I used Love is Everywhere for my card (above) today. I embossed the sweet little house with some sparkly Jeweled Gold embossing powder. I also stamped the heart kite (and popped an additional heart over it for some dimension). The sentiment is stamped on a tag and is from the same set as the fun images. Most of my supplies are from the Valentine Project Kit (cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon and brads!).

Note: While I was linking up this set, I noticed that Taylor is having a Valentine's sale and this set is 20% off through January 23!

I also made a 6" x 6" scrapbook page of my DD, Sabrina. Again, most of my supplies are from the Valentine Project Kit and the sentiment, "Bursting with Love" is from Love Everywhere.

I used Sankari's fab sketch for my layouts:

JustRite Stampers -- Introducing Kindness (Coordinates with new Spellbinders Die!)

Hello! Have you been following along with the Spellbinder's To DIE For!! Winter Release Blog Frenzy this week? Yesterday (Day 7), Ashley Newell, previewed a brand new die template, S5-026 Labels Twenty.

Today, JustRite Stampers is previewing a new cling set, CL-02095 Kindness, which matches the  Spellbinders S5-026 Labels Twenty die templates introduced by Ashley! This is the 3rd cling set that we have introduced along with the Spellbinder's Blog Frenzy, and all 3 sets are available for purchase now! Here's a link to all new cling sets.

Here's my sample using Kindness:

I stamped the smaller of the two images that fit Labels Twenty perfectly and embossed with Star Dust embossing powder for a sparkly effect. I don't have the Labels Twenty die templates yet, so I hand cut the label. I die cut a circle out of the center to make it into a frame. I stamped the ornate Thanks center from the JustRite original (ribbed set), JB-09835 2" You're So Sweet - Interlocking (love how the Cling and Original sets can be used together for so many different variations!). I decided to layer the framed sentiment over yet another stamped panel. The rectangular frame is stamped using JB-09200 Baroque Nested Frames and cut out using the custom JustRite dies, JB-08950 Nested Frame Dies (co-branded with Spellbinders). I added each layer with foam tape. Here's a detail shot:

Mojo You Make Me Smile & Exciting News!

Hello! Today I have a card to share that uses this week's new Mojo Monday sketch (#174). It is also my first week as one of the Mojo Makers! Yep, that's my exciting news! Julee invited me to join the team, and of course I said YES! Also joining the team is Debbie Carriere! Some of you may have seen the announcement on the Mojo Monday blog yesterday.. thank you SO much for those of you who sent me emails and left such sweet comments for me!

I put this card all together and had everything but the sentiment panel. You see, I was patiently waiting for the mail to arrive with my new Verve stamps! As soon as I came home from picking Sabrina up from school, I pulled out the new Love Notes set and the Jotted Heart Die and sat down to finish my card. I stamped the heart, die cut it, stamped the sentiment and popped it on top of my vellum rosette. For a little added "oomph", I added some glitter to the edges of my heart.

Here's this week's fabulous sketch:

I hope you will play along with us this week! Please visit the Mojo Monday blog for all the details and to see the wonderful creations by the Mojo Makers! You can also visit their individual blogs for more details (see my sidebar for links to each).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CR84FN11 -- I Never Want to Live Without You

Hello! It's time for another CR84FN (Create For Fun) Challenge! Thank you to all who joined us last week! For this week's challenge (CR84FN11), Mona has chosen the lovely color palette of Red, Kraft, and Brown. The photos in the graphic above are courtesy of Leslie at A Creative Mint.

When I first saw the color combination, I knew that I wanted to use some paper from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found collections and make an anniversary card for Dan (it's 3 weeks away, but I know it will sneak up on me!). I used 3 different patterned papers (and made a rosette out of one of them) and some ribbon from the Brown Lush collection. I rarely would use the same stamp set two week's in a row, but at least I used a different sentiment than I did last week! My sentiment, "I never want to live without you" is from Verve's Text Objects (I told you that I {heart} this set!). I also added some wee (2 mm) chocolate pearls from Pizzazz Apenty and stitching all around.

My layout was inspired by this My Mind's Eye sketch by Anam Stubbington. In order to qualify for the challenge, I needed to use 80% MME products, so my card likely doesn't qualify, but it was a fun sketch to play with! I pulled out any MME coordinating products that I could find in my stash, but I realize that I just mainly buy all their patterned paper..

For all the challenge details, please be sure to visit the CR84FN blog HERE. I hope you will join us this week.. I can't wait to see what you create! For more inspiration, please visit my fellow design teammates:
