JustRite "Just Because"

Hello! I hope you're all having a great week! I am ready for the weekend.. LOL! I have a JustRite "Just Because" card to share with you today...

I started with some coordinating paper from the Prima Madeline collection. My main background sheet had some subtle text on it already, but to add a little more to it, I clear embossed the strip of flowers from CL-02090 Friendship Blooms - Cling over the entire sheet. For my sentiment panel, I layered my "Just Because" sentiment (from JB-09835 2" You Inspire Me - Interlocking) over a decorative frame from CL-02075 You Inspire Me - Cling. I popped it all over a doily which I inked with Versamagic Wheat. I rounded the corner of one end to add a little softness, added stitching, twine and pearls and called it done!

Here's a look at the JustRite sets I used today:

CL-02090 Friendship Blooms - Cling (embossed flower border)

CL-02075 You Inspire Me - Cling (used bottom right frame)

Here's my card.. inspired by spring...

I used Rollerblading Chloe on my card today.. some of the girls on the DT drew in sidewalk and/or grass back when we previewed her, and I thought I'd give it a try it myself.. I think I colored my sidewalk a bit on the dark side (that's what I get for trying to color dark to light.. :))..

This week, I combined our challenge with the latest challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C80). Sparkle Creations is sponsoring the challenge and you have a chance to win Traveling Josh and Cruisin' Chloe! The C4C challenge is to use this fun sketch:

Hello! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch (#184).. It's round or square week.. I hope you will join us!

I love round cards, but I don't make them that often.. I just couldn't resist this week! I used some more yummy paper from Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden collection, some pink vellum and added one of my SIL's tatted butterflies in the center.. she recently sent me quite a few and I've decided that the best way to "persuade" her to make more is by using them.. :) My sentiment is from Verve's Friendly Phrases. I also added stitching all around and a strip of cream pearls at the top (from Pizzazz Aplenty).

This week's sketches are courtesy of Teresa:

I hope you will play along with us this week! Please visit the Mojo Monday blog for all the details and to see the wonderful creations by the Mojo Makers! You can also visit their individual blogs for more details:

Happy {Belated} Birthday, Kellie!

Hello! On Tuesday, the JustRite Stampers team had a birthday blog hop for our fabulous Design Team Coordinator and Product Development Director, Kellie Fortin! Unfortunately, I was not able to participate then, but I have a belated card for her to show you today. If you missed the hop, please be sure to go over to the JustRite blog HERE to hop around and see all the fabulous creations.

Today is also the start of a new JustRite Friday challenge.. Please be sure to visit the JR Inspiration blog for more details.

I thought it fitting to use one of the gorgeous labels that Kellie designed herself. This one is from CL-02100 Vintage Oval Labels - Cling. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut using the largest label from JB-S4248 Labels Thirteen. I used the original set, JB-09225 Birthday Centers Round, for my sentiment. I cut it out using Classic Ovals Small and popped it over the label for some added dimension. Pairing JustRite cling and original sets is a match made in heaven.. :)

Family is Everything

Hello! Happy Hump Day! I hope you are all having a great week! We are in the midst of Spring Break here and also getting over some ailments and sickness, so my crafting time has been somewhat limited.

I did have a chance to play in the My Mind's Eye Challenge #21 for this month, and since the deadline is quickly approaching, I thought I'd better post it. There are 2 challenge sketches each month, one for a card and one for a scrapbook layout. This month I only had a chance to play with the card sketch.. here's what I came up with:

I made a "scrappy" card today -- no stamping, if you can believe that! I layered some patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Gertie 6x6 pad. For the double scalloped layers, I added one scalloped layer of cardstock and stitched some yellow lace from the Stella & Rose Gertie "Delightful" Trims. I also added some seam binding, tied a bow and added a button from Gertie "Friends Forever". For the diecut or chipboard element, I used a layered sticker from Gertie "You & Me". I layered it on top of an inverted scallop circle die cut to make it pop a little more. I also rounded all the corners on the left side to soften my layout.

Here's a detail shot of the layered sticker:

The challenge was to use Anam Stubbington's sketch (below) and the theme is "Celebrate Today".

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~ all supplies from My Mind's Eye unless otherwise noted
Paper: Stella and Rose Gertie 6x6 pad, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah)

Sparkle Creations March Release -- Introducing Rollerblading Chloe

Hello and Welcome to the final day of previews and the March release for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! Sparkle is releasing 2 new images -- they are available in the store now.. Today we are previewing the final image, Rollerblading Chloe!

Isn't Rollerblading Chloe just the sweetest? She is out with her pup enjoying a lovely day! This image reminded me of the time that Dan dragged me out rollerblading when we were first dating. I was fine until the trail went downhill.. Instead of leaning forward to go faster, I leaned backwards to try to slow down, fell on my bottom and was dragged several feet by my momentum. I ripped my pants and ended up with huge scrapes and tiny rocks embedded in my skin.. ouch! Needless to say that was the end of rollerblading for me!

Be sure to visit the rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Rollerblading Chloe. Sparkle will be giving away a Rollerblading Chloe to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer's blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Chloe post. You have until midnight EST each day to comment. The lucky winner will be announced the following day!
