SCRS Challenge #53 -- Happy Anniversary

It's time for an all new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is a color challenge -- to use the SCRS colors of Lime, Turquoise, Black and White.

This is our final challenge of July, so we'd like to say a HUGE thank you to our fabulous guest designer, Kerri Michaud! Thank you for joining us for our 1st anniversary month, Kerri! We appreciate all of your hard work and gorgeous inspiration!

I don't want to deceive you, so I am including a photo of the complete Cocktail Emily stamp that I used (see below). I stamped it entirely and cut out only Emily, leaving out the cocktail glass. I was wanting to try something different here... :) I added a strip of a scalloped die cut included with the Kaisercraft Chapter One collection (which I think is a nice match for the SCRS colors!), some seam binding and black pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty. Since we are celebrating the anniversary of SCRS this month, I thought it appropriate to make an anniversary card for Sparkle's 1st Anniversary.

Sparkle Creations is sponsoring Card Patterns this week, so I am playing along with the sketch. For all the details, please check out the current Card Patterns blog HERE.

Mojo 201 -- Happy Birthday, Julee!

Hello! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch (#201).. Happy Birthday to our fearless Mojo leader,
Julee! It's Round or Square week! I hope you will join us this week!

This is the card I made for Julee... it is also my first sketch... ever! I actually made the cards first, then Julee magically transformed them into these sketches... :) I stamped "Wishing You all the Best" from Verve's Kind Words, die cut an oval then matted it onto the Classy Label Die. I added a little tag as well (using the Charming Oval Die Set). "Happy Birthday" is from one of the newly released sets, Small Phrases. The phrases are perfect for making tags or when you want a smaller sized sentiment.

Here are the two sketch options:

Happy Birthday, Uncle Ron!!

Hello! Greetings from southwest Minnesota! We are still out visiting family and today is a very special day as it is my BIL, Ron's birthday! Happy Birthday! Sabrina is thrilled to be here to celebrate Uncle Ron's birthday! I thought I'd pop in and show you the card I made for him.

I used Taylored Expressions Udderly Sweet. I have to admit that I thought of him when I first saw this set
and bought it just to make him birthday cards (in case you haven't guessed, he is a farmer). In fact, I ordered this last year when we were visiting him. With the exception of the button, all of my supplies are from the Taylored Expressions July Key Ingredients Kit (cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon and chipboard boots). I added the fence by die cutting one of the sheets of patterned paper using the Picket Fence Die.

Last year we were out for my niece's (his daughter) wedding and I took this photo of Sabrina with his tractor (she wouldn't climb up into it, so I had to settle for a shot of her standing in front of it):

Taylored Expressions July Blast from the Past Blog Hop!!

Hello! I'm excited to be participating in the July Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop! Each month, Taylor invites her customers to participate in this fun hop and feature Taylored Expressions Stamps! The theme for our hop is Sending You Sunshine.

If you happened here by chance, please check the full list of participants at the bottom of this post!

I chose to use the sweet cupcake house image from Cozy Cottages. Wouldn't you love to live in a cupcake-shaped house?! I added a bit of vellum (to tone down the print) and some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles from my stash. My sentiment is from For the Love of Cupcakes. I painted a chipboard flower white, stamped my sentiment on the pink cardstock, punched a circle and popped it over the chipboard.

All other supplies (patterned paper, cardstock, ribbon and chipboard flower) are from the Taylored Expressions July Key Ingredients kit. If you are unfamiliar with these kits, you can learn all about them on the Key Ingredients blog, HERE.

I used Sankari's fun sketch for my layout:

SCRS Challenge #52 -- Favorite Image

It's time for an all new Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Each week we will post an all new challenge at this time (9 PM PST on Mondays). For all the details, please visit the SCRS blog. This week's challenge is a color challenge -- to use your favorite SCRS image.

I have to admit that I thought this would be an easy challenge, but it ended up being tougher than I thought. The hardest part was choosing my favorite SCRS image! Honestly, I have a lot of favorites, but in the end I chose Scooter Chloe. Not only is she one of the original 8 images, but she is all about fun! She is one of our most popular characters and was featured in the very first SCRS newsletter. I paired her with some new paper from the Authentique Uncommon collection.

For sketch inspiration, I used the July Sketch For You To Try:

Mojo 200 -- Grateful for Your Friendship

Hello! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch... Can you believe this is sketch #200?! I hope you will join us this week!

For my card today, I broke out some new goodies! First off, I used Verve's newly released Words Cannot Express. It is a lovely sentiment set that expressed gratitude in a heartfelt manner. I paired it some paper from the Authentique Blissful collection. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Classy Label Die. I used the  Floral Circles Die Set to make my layered felt flower.

Here's a look at Julee's fabulous sketch (check out the new look!):

CR84FN34 -- Happy Birthday, Heather!

Hello! It's time for another CR84FN Challenge! Thank you to all who joined us last time.. it was fun viewing all of your fabulous creations! For the next challenge (CR84FN34), our color palette is Yellow, Pink and Bright Pink. For this challenge and for the remainder of the summer, each challenge will last for 2 weeks. The lovely photos in the graphic above are courtesy of Mona's hubby, Scott. Aren't these flowers gorgeous?!

Today we are celebrating sweet Heather Jensen's birthday (Happy early birthday, Heather!) and this is the card I made for her:

I was obviously inspired by those gorgeous hibiscus' that Scott photographed.. :) I stamped and colored the hibiscus from Verve's Happy Days. My sentiment is from Wishing You. I added some lace, stitching and pink rhinestones (from Pizzazz Aplenty).

I used one of the Viva la Verve sketches for July for my layout:

MFTWSC28 -- Ready, Set, Blow!!

Hello! Happy Friday! I've been busy working ahead on some design team projects, and today I had a chance to play just.for.fun!!

I couldn't wait to play with the new My Favorite Things Die-namics Perfect Pinwheel and Stamp Set! It is SO fun and easy to make these pinwheels... I can't wait to make more! I used some paper from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite. The pinwheel die comes with 3 centers that you can mix and match. I used a couple in the center of my pinwheel and secured it with a pearl brad. Since I had cut out a few different pinwheels, I had a lot of the centers left over. I scrunched several together and secured with a brad to make my layered flower.

I used WSC28 Getting Sketchy for my layout ... all details are HERE!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies ~
Stamps: Pinwheel Stamp Set (MFT)
Paper: Lime Twist Fly a Kite (My Mind's Eye), Frosted Teal (Prism), Classic Crest Classic Natural White (Neenah)
Accessories: Die-namics Perfect Pinwheel (MFT), File Tab punch (McGill), Ric Rac, Wrinkled Ribbon (May Arts), Lollipop stick (Wilton), Brads, Foam tape, Thread, Sewing machine.

JustRite Cling July Release -- Spread Your Wings

If you are looking for my Sparkle Creations preview, please scroll down or click HERE.. Thank You!

Edited to add direct links.

Hello! Welcome to Day 7 of JustRite Stampers July stamp previews! Today we are introducing a new cling set for all of you bird and nature lovers.. CL-02170 Spread Your Wings - Cling.

I first embossed one of the bird cages onto Kraft cardstock, then I die cut with Labels Eighteen. I added the bird outside the cage and the butterfly inside the cage with the thought that the sweet butterfly went in to check out the bird's home while the bird was out hunting. The bird returned home and not wanting to disturb the butterfly, patiently waits atop the cage. When I showed this to Dan, he said, "the butterfly is locked up in the cage.. I feel sorry for it".. That is definitely NOT what I was trying to portray here! I also used JB-08950 Nested Frame Dies (co-branded with Spellbinders) to die cut my tag and used one of the sentiments included in the set, "Have a great day".

Here's a complete look at CL-02170 Spread Your Wings - Cling:

I cut out a portion of the pink lined paper and added it to the bright orange grungy paper. I also added a strip of tatted lace (made by my cousin, Jessica of Snapdragon Lace) and some seam binding. Edited to add direct links.

Hello! Welcome to Day 6 of JustRite Stampers July stamp previews! Today we are introducing a new cling set that coordinates with our custom charm dies.. CL-02175 Elegant Charms - Cling.

I started with a couple of sheets of coordinating patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Chapter One collection. On the black patterned paper, I stamped one of the flowers repeatedly and added a tiny dark green rhinestone (from Pizzazz Aplenty) in the center of each flower. For my tag, I stamped the flower charm which cuts perfectly with the largest star die from JB-08960 Charm Dies. I stamped "Hello" on a scrap of the same patterned paper used in the center of my main panel, punched it out and popped it on top of the tag. I also added some color and sparkle to the flower with my Melon Spica Glitter pen. Here's a detail shot:
